I have a soft center and part of me wants things to slow down and be more inclusive and understanding and to have time for more connection… and generally shift our culture away from survival of the fittest.
That didnt get me anywhere and i was poor as shit and was taken advantage of by employers and the system constantly.
Now i say fuck everyone else im getting mine and relish getting ahead. Its a learned behavior that i want to shed when i have financial independence. It is what it is.

He didnt lie about what his plans of action were, but he was telling everybody immigrants and foreign aid are the source of our problems. (Redunctionist i know)
So he did lie. And most people arent equipped for the disinformation age.
Its easy to say they should be smarter than that, but its also easy to say our administration shouldn’t be fabricating reality to further their platform. Blaming the masses seems pretty pointless to me. We all want better for ourselves. Maybe some are more outwardly selfish or racist or whatever but when are we going to learn to not frame 50% of america as inherently evil? Whats the point of watering down our perception of others?

Sorry i just reinstalled this app today after a mental health break and forgot how insufferable everyone is.

Its an illusion of control and if lemmy grows their elitest sentiment will fade. They can go make a fringe instance with all the arbitrary knowledge requirements they want but the most populated instances on lemmy should be there for the layman users that want to do better than reddit.
Why, with an established federated platform, would we not want to be the replacement for corporate social media? If they are so proud of registering on lemmy then idk if they are all that smart.

Yeah i have a comp sci degree and it took me a minute to understand the different servers and how to curate my feed and then balance quality vs quantity of posts.
Im capable of understanding but i dont want to put effort into my leisure app, and it seems like nobody else does either.
Good starting defaults for instances and the “everything” front page seems most important. Maybe training people on the front page to branch out by showing them posts from up and coming communities…

Isnt that a lemmy clone though? If the userbase is the problem why would a new interface help?

I dont know what you are talking about. What subscriptions am i adding to where?

Why do we want more users? Because lemmy is insufferable. Im here, like many others, waiting for an alternative to reddit and hoping im already there.
No we dont need gatekeeping based on a users understanding federated servers. We need more people so the smaller communities actually have posts and we dont need to scroll the dumpster fire that is “everything”.

Well I certainly wouldn’t want to extrapolate your qualities from limited information. Maybe i should try thinking more about the reality of your situation and not feel obligated to conclude stuff about you. Sorry about my short-sighted meme behavior. I really am ruining lemmy even though i just wanted to drive engagement with the platform so it feels populated enough for people to transition from reddit without it feeling like a ghost town. Maybe i can still do that without being so damn annoying.

Gosh, if i had known you were such a victim i wouldnt have dared suggest you have a problem letting things go.

That does seem to be where this is headed given sync’s layout and your last-word complex.

I dont think you form questions. I think things just come straight out of your head onto gods upcoming commandments list.

Sorry, the question is how i can see? Or how you cant?
- Comment on Jeep Introduces Pop-Up Ads That Appear Every Time You Stop 3 weeks ago:
Your first reply demonstrates your single-minded goal to “win” rather than clarifying your position. You milked the misunderstanding because thats why youre on here.
- Comment on Jeep Introduces Pop-Up Ads That Appear Every Time You Stop 3 weeks ago:
Well if thats what you really meant then i applaud your ability to leverage how obtuse you are. It certainly seems to have proven you dont need to be clear about what you are saying to win an argument on lemmy.
- Comment on Jeep Introduces Pop-Up Ads That Appear Every Time You Stop 3 weeks ago:
Now you’re just being pedantic. If you’re while argument was based on the usage of the word “culture” i think you could have made that point more clear lol.
Obviously you were talking about the validity of assembling for the interest of the Jeep brand.
For a professional lemming your performance hasnt been stellar this morning.
- Comment on Jeep Introduces Pop-Up Ads That Appear Every Time You Stop 3 weeks ago:
Reducing peoples interests to consumerism is your culture i guess.
If i buy a mountain bike is my culture a mountain biker? How often do i have to ride to be justified in thay belief? How often do i have to post online about bikes? How many hours of youtube do i need to watch of mountain biking?
Jeeps do things normal passenger vehicles dont and people creating a community of interest on that basis is valid.

It means you dont need to shit on a random interest. What did rock crawlers and off-roaders do to you?
