They don’t let you pump before you pay here and usually the pump has a card reader on it so I never go inside unless I need to use the restroom or something

You need to use it more until it’s just a stub

even if your arent a trucker its so annoying when someone fills thier gas then walks off into the store to buy a snack, like just go park in front of the store. one time the gas station clerk came to tell one guy to move his car because he was just there working on it with the hood open after he got gas, the dude got so mad he jumped in his car and sped off, which was great for us that were waiting for an open spot

- Comment on Sanity check: am I crazy for wanting to wipe everything and do/learn from scratch? 1 week ago:
When i first started self hosting i went through several reinstalls of unraid until I finally got my method down and had a better understanding of what I was doing.
I recently did the same thing with arch on my laptop. The past like two weeks I reinstalled arch like 6 times until I knew what I wanted and how to do it from my notes, I went from arch with plasma to i3wm and now to hyprland so now I can do a minimal install to hyprland and get everything up and going to the point I felt confident enough to do the same to my main home desktop

- Comment on Tools to migrate from Plex to Jellyfin? 2 weeks ago:
I think that’s the one i use, I had a few mobile users not be able to watch plex in the past so I installed jellyfin and that so they could go back and forth
- Comment on Self-hosted media server to share with 5+ people? 2 weeks ago:
No i don’t but some of them send me money every once in a while just because they use plexripper to download from my server to theirs, I’m going to be running the server anyways so people using it feels better than it sitting idle
- Comment on Self-hosted media server to share with 5+ people? 2 weeks ago:
I use plex mainly but run jellyfin alongside it for people that watch on mobile.
I started with my old desktop that had an Intel cpu with quicksync and put unraid on it, i started with 2tb disk and gradually switched over to 14tb drives now I’m at 100tb
I have several famy friends coworkers using it now, at first no one was really interested but as streaming prices went up and content got more dispersed people started jumping on board.
Now multiple friends setup their own servers so its really good coverage especially if I need to take mine down for maintenance the wife can keep watching stuff from other people’s servers.
Things you need to find out is if you are behind a cgnat or other isp issues
- Comment on What are people doing for home server UPS in 2025? 2 weeks ago:
Ive been looking at those anker solix battery systems they supposedly can be used as a ups but haven’t looked into how well and you can plug solar panels into them which was my original goal to reduce the power usage from the grid at least for part of the day
- Comment on When building a home server, could a used/cheap PC do the job? 2 weeks ago:
I started with my old gaming rig as a server, any decent intel cpu with quicksync is very good for plex and transcoding saving having to buy a cpu if you went with like a server grade cpu with no igpu
- Comment on What's your favorite Pokémon Game? 2 weeks ago:
I would like to say leaf green just because I played it later on and the little clubhouse you could make was cool, I recently started trying to replay one of each generation like yellow, crystal, and now emerald but man I just want to power through them but you have to grind to level up and i get sleepy

I always try but I don’t think the side ones move that far, and the center mirror has that auto darken thing and rear window is tinted so it’s not that bright
I think in china they have these scary images on backwindows that shine when lights reflect in there for highbeam users

- Comment on New to self-hosting 1 month ago:
Yeah I have the lifetime license from before they switched to a yearly subscription, for me as I was pretty new to the whole thing it just made it super simple to get up and running, now I’m setting up dockers in compose so still learning but being able to just go to the community app store and use the templates to get things up and running right away was super nice, and the ability to upgrade drives as you go as well
