While the cutoff for training can be around a year or so, they can access the web now so it should have been able to know this, it can summarize, connect, extrapolate, etc any info it can access on the web. While still capable of hallucination, less and less over time, but OP probably unknowingly or knowingly gave it a constraint when they fed it the info, it might have taken that as only using said info, and existing training data, measuring new info against training and rendering false. Mentioning something like what is a major event that happened last week, it will give a summary of that with highlights then sources. Then you can ask it anything about those. Anything that it could do with its training data, it can do with this temporary data, then a new chat the web’s data is not preserved when you ask it a follow up. It initially uses training data only until you mention a recent time indication in your prompt, then it has the only choice of using the web, as long as it isn’t requested not to. There are some other phrases that may prompt a web search, it uses its best ‘judgement’ for this.

Got it. Can we use this game for this community?
- Comment on A place for imaginary album art 4 days ago:
What are the official rules of that game? Because the ones I have found have you use links to random pictures on Flickr and are copyrighted. They wouldn’t work considering your rule of only OC.

I am hoping to have at least another mod. I can’t always be on Lemmy, when I am at work. I want something that Lemmy doesn’t have yet. There isn’t one dedicated to resources. I just add the other option so it is all in one place. I plan on tagging related communities in the description. I will have to see if the community gains more following and see what is needed.

To each their own, looks like it did pretty well to me, not that it matters.

As I stated, i don’t really care. Never said it isn’t happening.

Well. I hope this community is met with good intentions. I wanted to make a self-improvement community, but the one that exists is void, and their intentions were only for it to be people posting with their experiences and asking for advice. I wanted to make a decide to be better community as I used to use on reddit, there was one but also dead as a community, and more for experiences and advice. This community was originally an idea for resources only, but seeing the other communities unused, I decided to expand to advice. Mental health community exists but they don’t have anyone posting resources, maybe there is a pinned post but I want to open this community to both resources AND support. And sharing how you overcame your struggle. And then I expanded it to all aspects of self improvement. Anyone can post diet/nutrition, physical health, financial tips articles, career etc resources and advice or ask for it. However any written advice that is not a link to another source, should be met with caution and critical thinking, in hopes of good faith.

I will be sure to remove any trolls or negative comments. There is a rule about positivity only when replying and content/trigger warnings required when necessary. If anyone would like to be a mod let me know.

did you forget that this is a shitposting community not a wholesome content community. I posted this because I wanted to make fun of it AND Reddit. Pointing out the obvious that I have seen in multiple places–not just news on social media, but my local news on TV, and many other places using a Reddit post–that is impossible to verify whether it was made up or not-as a source for ‘content’. But even if it was false and just propaganda, I don’t think the right are capable of interpreting this as you described. (I purposely don’t look for these connections because I make it a point to ignore politics as a whole, and even after pointing it out, I still don’t care).

There is not much stopping them. All the more reason to boycott. There are small trustworthy, non-politically-leaning news sources still worth using.

I only keep my account for family and close friends. Occasionally I will see pages I follow. Every comment, just about, on that post is people either continuing the conversation for the Reddit post or a joke about the type of content. I figure, they get a lot of engagement when they first started doing this, and just followed the pattern to keep people seeing them in their feed. Same gimmick as the rage bait and the pseudo-wholesome content.

It is a good distraction. But heck, I wish I could just copy and paste quotes from social media as a ‘journalist’ for a large company like that. It’s all the article was with only a few sentences from the writer. They pretty frequently post ‘everyday-type’ stuff like this.
- Comment on So glad they are reporting what matters and not some mundane thing. 1 week ago:
No, it was just an article, primarily written by the aforementioned Reddit poster and the commenter. There was little input by the ‘journalist’. Now, I can’t say the same about the OP of the Reddit post. Maybe that had a hidden meaning but I doubt it. But it doesn’t surprise me coming from Fox, it is just funny they have nothing better to write about.(they do this often) On social media every day there is a story with similar merit as this one, they could just do this every day. My point. And still be watched/read. But it is for this reason, I keep following their page: to find humor in the comments.

- Comment on Some eggs for my 'murican friends 4 weeks ago:
The American version is two packaged chocolate halves. The toy is in the middle. The original is banned by FDA in America because it has the plastic egg within the chocolate egg and there is a clause in the FDA regulations that says non food items cannot be within packaging unless necessary. And the toy is not necessary according to them. The taste is a texture (shape) difference. Ingredients are the same as far as I know.

I mean we have them just not the ones with plastic in them. I guess they wouldn’t quite taste the same.
