Most of the interesting channels I follow rely on sponsorship, donations or merchandising. For specialized subjects, the youtube algorithm doesn’t acknowledge the value of the audience in terms of advertising (ex: tool brand for car channel).

It’s a misconception/misrepresentation that they are more uneducated or idiotic than average. They may look like it (or the media make them so), but actual idiots wouldn’t be as capable as they are to push their agenda forward.

Actually not really: performance per watt of the high end stuff has been stagnating since Ampere generation. NVidia hides it by changing models in its benchmarks or advertising raw performance without power figures.
