Do you think each niche Lemmy instances should have their own mission and vision, and market themselves accordingly? I’d imagine lemmy.world can represent Lemmy as whole, but something like ani.social speaks more to weebs IMO.

When we write reviews or share things.
My understanding is that marketeers would have thought their company’s acquisition / retention / etc problems through, then decide on the best approach to deal with the problem.
In some cases, marketeers recognised that having reviews bring the most value to their organisations, and would then create means for end users to “write reviews or share things”.
^This problem-solving is the real marketing work, not us end users spreading the word.

cmiiw but I don’t think NPUs are meant to be used on general-purpose personal computers. A GPU makes more sense.
NPUs are meant for specialised equipment e.g. object detection in a camera (not the personal-use kind)

I definitely felt my lack of knowledge impacted my enjoyment. Characters suddenly showed up and were referring to events from parallel timelines/universes that I had little to no knowledge of.
As a noob Gundam fan, I can understand the sentiment. I’d be lost too if I did not watch the 1979 series.
On the bright side, it could have been worse. Glad you enjoy the space combat at least (but it’s quite a shame when considering that the main themes of Gundam - war is driven by politics, and war is bad - won’t be seen as the main focus to newcomers).

This Season
2026 is off to a great start in the form of peak anime Kaguya-sama and Watanare.
Some of the funniest chapters from Kaguya-sama anime were adapted; I laughed quite a bit. Watanare felt a tad more tame than before, but I still enjoyed it. Overall, I’d both studios delivered.

I read My Goddess is Precious Today, Too recently.
It’s a small collection of yuri chapters, making it very easy to complete. I enjoy the relationships and dialogue between the various couples.

I love adaptations that go above and beyond, providing value-add instead of making it a one-one translation of the story to another medium. This special (OVA?) is definitely one such anime.

I realised that with this last arc, Renako has bathed with all 4 girls.
Honestly, this arc felt more normal instead of being as spicy as before. In fact, I don’t think there were any real kisses on screen in any of the 5 episodes!
Also, that last scene is kinda cringe ngl. There is an entire hall of audience watching their drama play out.
But on the whole, I still enjoyed it though.
Finally, perhaps it’s because I don’t watch enough of them, but IMO this is the only harem anime that bears sufficient similarity to 100 Girlfriends. Other harem anime just have a bunch of love interests hanging around the protagonist (i.e. they are just present), whereas in these two anime, the love interests are actually relevant as characters.

This world they live in is super fucked up the more we learn about it.
That’s basically every game world / fantastical world when taken seriously. That’s why parodies are so fun.
Then again, our world is super fucked up too. Even discounting the current (geo)politics, there is so much that we don’t understand of our world. I can understand why so many people default to religions which provide much simpler explanations. (Personally, I find the “we live in a simulation” theory fun). Anyway, kudos to physicists, philosophers and the likes; they have my respect for the tough job of making sense of the world.

Fall 2025
I kept hearing that this is one of the worst anime seasons, but at this stage in my life, this is perfect: a few quality shows to follow, with plenty of breathing room to catch-up on past GOATs.
Spy x Family - season 3
I find that this season to be a huge improvement over the past seasons / cour. A lot less fillers, but IMO the fillers could have been left out of the mainline series; perhaps include them in OVAs instead.
Umamusume: Cinderella Gray - part 2
I still enjoy it like part 1, but IMO the drama can be upped even more. Also, I am starting to notice powerpoint slides; not a good sign. Doesn’t matter as I am in it for the story though, and Oguri’s is cap - as in peak.
I still like Pretty Derby season 2 the most from the Umamusume franchise, but I heard that Cinderella Gray’s story becomes even better later in the manga. Definitely looking forward to future seasons.
Gnosia
The worldbuilding and set-up has been going on for quite a while, and we are now seeing hints of a climax. If they pull off the ending well, I can see it contending with the other popular shows next season in terms of personal enjoyment.
Wandance
Barring the animation and computer graphics, I heard that this anime (read: its story) is good. I ended up binging it last week and it turned out to be my dark horse of the season. (Gnosia doesn’t count because I’ve been enjoying it from the start.)
I love the Wanda and Kabo’s relationship. I love the maturity of the characters and the way the story developed. I wasn’t bothered by the 3D models being used in dance sequences, plus I find CG with animation infinitely better than slideshows. If you enjoy anime mainly for the plot, consider giving Wandance a chance.
Also, thanks to Wandance, there is finally a song from this season that made it into my playlist: Stare In Wonder (Wandance OP)
