It is indeed the Aqua x Ruby route 💀
Sarina/Ruby: You said you’d marry me once I turn sixteen
Sarina/Ruby: Doctor (Aqua), I am turning sixteen now
Sarina/Ruby: Bro (Aqua), give me your juice
Other works would do some cowardly backpedaling, revealing that they are step siblings at the last minute.
This writer is too big-brained for that, and choose to
Oshi no Ko manga ending spoiler
kill one of them off instead.
I guess there are certainly fewer options when they are technically genetic twins 🗿
(But the other girls are right there!)
Proper thoughts / discussion:
Absolute Cinema - Ruby version
I love the Oshi no Ko formula of season finale. I love how there’s closure, but there’s still a hook leaving you wanting more.
I am so glad that Aqua and Ruby got to know their past lives’ identities, and that Miyako got to get together with Ichigo again (though Ichigo got off too lightly IMO).
Now that this series is entering the final phases, I wonder if Memcho would get her turn in the spotlight. Akane, Kana and Ruby had their turn, but not Memcho. She’s pretty much relegate to being a side character these days. Feels bad if she’s the only core member who got left out, and get less character development. Maybe she can be involved in a scandal whereby her actual age got leaked?
Regarding that white-haired little girl, I’m surprised that she’s an actual person and not just a spirit. I wonder why all those crows flock to her, and how she handles them. Think of all the bird shit. Also, what’s her deal? She has some knowledge of what’s going on - could she be a reincarnated individual too? But there’s too little clue to guess at her motivations.
Anyway, peak season once again. Looking forward to the next (and final?) season. I am aware of the manga ending, but I hope that the journey there won’t be disappointing.
Banner nomination: Ruby sucking Aqua’s juice 🥵

I can’t believe that they resolved everything in one episode 💀 Reminds me of the last episode of
meta spoiler; anime title
Gundam: Witch from Mercury
The reveal of Cipriano to be a rival religious nutjob was kinda cliche and lame IMO, but I still find it acceptable since it is somewhat realistic. Cliche because we hear about faith-based terrorists and whatnot many times by now, and lame because it could have been a deeper conspiracy (e.g. it could have been a hostile nation trying to undermine this one from the inside)
Regardless, the characters who part of Seiichirou’s circle are based as usual. It is so refreshing to see people in power talking sense and being open-minded.
Yua also stood out in this episode with that save of hers. I expected that Aresh to save the day since he is the deuteragonist, but they actually gave the spotlight to Yua - a pleasant surprise!
In fact, this anime tried to make pretty much all the non-antagonists look “good”. Even prince Yurius kinda redeemed himself by the end despite starting off so trope-y.
Peak BL. I didn’t nominate any handholding scenes for episode banners because they are based enough to go much further than that 🫡

Y’know, your counterarguments do make sense. However, the ad hominem at the end is uncalled for IMO.

New chapters of The White Mage Who Joined My Party Is a Party Crusher, So My Isekai Life Is at Risk of Collapsing Once Again have been getting released on Mangadex lately after a long gap, so I’ve picked it up again.
It appears to be intentionally trope-y, and probably belongs in the category of “trash isekai” anyway, but I found it entertaining nonetheless.

Although Medalist is a great show and among my top favourites, I am not confident that little kids have the maturity to appreciate it.

+1 for the Pokemon and Digimon recommendations
For Pokemon, the specific series I can recommend is Pokemon: Horizons. Different protagonist from the original - Ash - but I think I enjoy the story more.
For Digimon, the one I have the strongest impression of (from the time I watched them as a kid) is Digimon Frontier.
One more anime that hasn’t been mention yet is Cells at Work!. I know for a fact that there are kids who watch this anime.

Getting lazy:
Oshi no Ko - More suspense, more drama, more good music. It is building up towards a big climax, and I can’t wait to see it.
'Tis Time for “Torture”, Princess - It’s more of the same as season 1, but somehow I found this season funnier and more enjoyable. Maybe its pacing improved? Whatever the case, it is still a very cute and wholesome slice-of-life.
Frieren - With the shorter episode count and just the episodic stories, this season is clearly just an intermission, the calm before the storm, setting up for the next big arc. Even so, it still delivered with the direction, the soundtracks and just the rest of the production in general. I particularly enjoyed the light bits of humour.
The Demon King’s Daughter is Too Kind!! - This is my most anticipated anime of the season and I am glad to say that it has met my expectations. It’s production value may not be on par with the greats, but it captured the essence of the source material and that’s what truly matter for an adaptation IMO. They know how to exemplify Dou’s cuteness and kindness, providing the perfect healing each week.
Gnosia - Plenty of loose threads just like Beastars IMO, but I still enjoyed the journey. Very fun, and the closest to a whodunnit in anime. (Perhaps I watched too little anime.)
You and I are Polar Opposites - It is always refreshing to see a non-braindead couple, even if it is a standard romcom. Standard romances / romcoms tend to fall off and become boring to me, because it’s always the same story. What this anime did though - just like the rest of the greats in this season - is to develop the rest of the cast. Now there’s way more interactions, keeping things fresh.
Hell’s Paradise - After all the build-up in season 1, we are starting to get to the meat in season 2. There are still more reveals to come, so it should be staying interesting.

I haven’t been watching anime for that long, so this is in fact the most stacked season of anime that I’ve watched while they are airing.
Here are the ones that I have enjoyed the most:
- Medalist
- Beastars - last season
- Isekai Office Worker
- Journal with Witch
- Jujutsu Kaison - season 3
- Oshi no Ko - season 3
- ’Tis Time for “Torture”, Princess - season 2
- Frieren - season 2
- The Demon King’s Daughter is Too Kind!!
- Gnosia (continued from previous season)
- You and I are Polar Opposites
- Hell’s Paradise - season 2
- Watanare - season 1.5?
- Tamon’s B Side
- Love Through A Prism
- My Hero Academia: Vigilantes - season 2
That’s 16 anime!
Looking through my watch history, the second best season for me is Fall 2023 with 7 most-enjoyed anime:
- 100 Girlfriends
- Frieren
- Attack on Titan - final^final^ movie?
- The Apothecary Diaries
- Jujutsu Kaisen - season 2 (continued from previous season)
- Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid
- Pluto
This season’s list is easily double that of Fall 2023!
Here are some quick thoughts on each of them:

Development of all three couples in one episode?! We are eating too good!
Which side couple do you think would get together first? Nishi and Yamada, or Taira and Azuma?
My bet is on Nishi and Yamada because they have reached the first-date base. Having said that, it seems like they are type to take it slow, so Taira-Azuma may very well overtake them.

This second season followed the same formula as season 1 by having a mid season climax and ending with a set-up episode 🗿
Is that how they keep viewers hooked nowadays?
Another anime I can think of that did this is
anime title
Umamusume: Cinderella Gray
Anyway, my experience of this Medalist season can be summed up as: AOTS
Peak comedy, drama, story and characters.

The way I see it, the vast majority of people with pokemons treat them as house pets (e.g. Poketoon: The Slugma-Powered Home). Only a small percentage actually use them in battles. A way smaller percentage actively abuse pokemons (i.e. the villains)

The dragons are smart indeed. It’s so rare to see bad guys bum rush the protagonist all at once instead of challenging the protag - and losing - one by one. The only other example I can think of off the top of my head is
non-anime title
Matrix with the Smiths vs Neo fight.
It sucks that they off-screened the end of the dragon fight, but comedic moments in the second half of the episode made up for it.
Frieren: What makes you think so?
…bruh. Anyone can tell that you the elven mage from the way you talk.

Its stength makes sense actually. When powerscaling, toonforce is one of the most cracked abilities, allowing you to bend reality at will.

My brain is too smooth to understand; why did Utage run to the lake to have an internal monologue about her love for Tamon? Like, why the lake, and why the rush to get there??
Also, huge L from Utage with the confession edging. The Natsuki-Asuka secondary couple carried this episode.

The end credits are a must-watch! What a reveal!!
In hindsight, that foreshadowing was obvious, but still!
Also, what’s up with the little girl? Is she a deity, one who was responsible for Aqua and Ruby’s reincarnation? If she is, she is more useless than goddesses from Konosuba and Cautious Hero. Literally zero support.
I wonder why they get reincarnated, given that reincarnations (with intact memories) seem to be the exception rather than the norm. A second chance for Gorou and Sarina? But now they are siblings (i.e. no more shipping, unless…), unaware of their previous incarnations’ identities, and are stuck in such a bad situation.
What’s the point then? For them to suffer? I can only imagine this is meant to be their personal hell, but what the heck did Sarina do to deserve this then? This is basically the childhood cancer argument against an omnipotent, benevolent god.
Maybe Hikaru is also a reincarnated individual, who became twisted thanks to this deity? I think this could be an interesting twist.

So this is one of the perks of working at the royal palace!
I’m surprised that Seiichirou just left it at that. I thought he would want to look into the medical billing system, to confirm that the right amount of subsidy is applied to the itemised charge (or at least that’s what I see on my receipts for medical bills). After all, he is all about balancing of books and preventing abuse of the system.

I must be really old; the uncs are too relatable 😭
Also, I actually enjoy this episode more than usual even though its focus is on the side characters. That’s normally not how it is because in most cases, an episode dedicated to side characters would just delay the plot. But there’s no real plot in this anime, and the characters are funny and endearing.
This is peak filler.

This Season
The moment Beastars final final season was released, I sped through it like I did previous seasons. The story is too compelling; can’t stop picking up the next episode.
As a whole, Beastars is essentially a crossover of The Dark Knight trilogy and Zootopia. These are two of my favourite movie series, so it stands to reason that I would enjoy Beastars just as much.
Also, it’s not everyday that we see a complete story in anime. I love the closure that comes with the completion of a story.
This final season is not without its flaws (e.g. I felt the last bit was a tad too rushed), but the positives far outweigh the negatives for me. That means that as a whole, it has now earned a permanent spot among my peaks.
Next Season
Next season looks to be rather light for me, standing in stark contrast to this season. There are only two anime that I would definitely check out:
Hero’s Rib - The infamous one that everyone is going to try. Zany bullshit can be very fun to watch. I hope it won’t be a miss.
Botan Kamiina Fully Blossoms When Drunk - Don’t know anything about it except that it is yuri romcom; I love yuri, and I love romcom.
I am familiar with the manga for Gals Can’t Be Kind to Otaku!? and The Classroom of a Black Cat and a Witch, but
meta spoiler
nothing really happens in these manga. At most, there are some cliche developments that don’t drive the plot forward.
So the anime aren’t worth picking up IMO. I would still continue reading the manga though.
I might pick a few more new anime up if they are popular and good enough to get plenty of people singing ehir praises.

Unfortunately, Suzuki’s denseness is overwhelming. On the bright side, they are probably to kiss soon anyway. The show is probably saving it for the last episode.
