Me too, whenever a show is inconsistent with their post-credit scenes.

My brain is too smooth to understand; why did Utage run to the lake to have an internal monologue about her love for Tamon? Like, why the lake, and why the rush to get there??
Also, huge L from Utage with the confession edging. The Natsuki-Asuka secondary couple carried this episode.

The end credits are a must-watch! What a reveal!!
In hindsight, that foreshadowing was obvious, but still!
Also, what’s up with the little girl? Is she a deity, one who was responsible for Aqua and Ruby’s reincarnation? If she is, she is more useless than goddesses from Konosuba and Cautious Hero. Literally zero support.
I wonder why they get reincarnated, given that reincarnations (with intact memories) seem to be the exception rather than the norm. A second chance for Gorou and Sarina? But now they are siblings (i.e. no more shipping, unless…), unaware of their previous incarnations’ identities, and are stuck in such a bad situation.
What’s the point then? For them to suffer? I can only imagine this is meant to be their personal hell, but what the heck did Sarina do to deserve this then? This is basically the childhood cancer argument against an omnipotent, benevolent god.
Maybe Hikaru is also a reincarnated individual, who became twisted thanks to this deity? I think this could be an interesting twist.

They can’t just tease us at the end with heaven / the angelic realm but not follow up with a sequel announcement 😭 So far it has been episodic, there’s somewhat more of a plot moving forward.
Overall, I am satisfied

So this is one of the perks of working at the royal palace!
I’m surprised that Seiichirou just left it at that. I thought he would want to look into the medical billing system, to confirm that the right amount of subsidy is applied to the itemised charge (or at least that’s what I see on my receipts for medical bills). After all, he is all about balancing of books and preventing abuse of the system.

I must be really old; the uncs are too relatable 😭
Also, I actually enjoy this episode more than usual even though its focus is on the side characters. That’s normally not how it is because in most cases, an episode dedicated to side characters would just delay the plot. But there’s no real plot in this anime, and the characters are funny and endearing.
This is peak filler.

This Season
The moment Beastars final final season was released, I sped through it like I did previous seasons. The story is too compelling; can’t stop picking up the next episode.
As a whole, Beastars is essentially a crossover of The Dark Knight trilogy and Zootopia. These are two of my favourite movie series, so it stands to reason that I would enjoy Beastars just as much.
Also, it’s not everyday that we see a complete story in anime. I love the closure that comes with the completion of a story.
This final season is not without its flaws (e.g. I felt the last bit was a tad too rushed), but the positives far outweigh the negatives for me. That means that as a whole, it has now earned a permanent spot among my peaks.
Next Season
Next season looks to be rather light for me, standing in stark contrast to this season. There are only two anime that I would definitely check out:
Hero’s Rib - The infamous one that everyone is going to try. Zany bullshit can be very fun to watch. I hope it won’t be a miss.
Botan Kamiina Fully Blossoms When Drunk - Don’t know anything about it except that it is yuri romcom; I love yuri, and I love romcom.
I am familiar with the manga for Gals Can’t Be Kind to Otaku!? and The Classroom of a Black Cat and a Witch, but
meta spoiler
nothing really happens in these manga. At most, there are some cliche developments that don’t drive the plot forward.
So the anime aren’t worth picking up IMO. I would still continue reading the manga though.
I might pick a few more new anime up if they are popular and good enough to get plenty of people singing ehir praises.

Considering that there are only 2 episodes left I feel like this season will end quite abruptly but I’m glad they don’t rush things.
This seems to be a trend this season. And you know what? I am all for it.

Hmmm, only two episodes left. I’m guessing one episode would focus on Emiri coming out of the closet, and the other on Asa passing the audition.
Regarding the university’s discrimination against female applicants, I wondered if it’s based on some real-life events. A quick search showed that it should be 😮: Guardian article
I’m impressed by this show, yet again.

Tani is too smooth as usual.
Unfortunately, Suzuki’s denseness is overwhelming. On the bright side, they are probably to kiss soon anyway. The show is probably saving it for the last episode.
- Comment on [Episode] Medalist Season 2 • Medalist 2nd Season - Episode 8 discussion 4 days ago:
I’m gonna be a debbie downer: the quadruple salchow won’t be enough for Inori to beat Hikaru. Hikaru would have picked up a new technique by the All-Japans, so Inori did was maintain the gap (or maybe close it a little).
Still, at this rate, the only real competition against Hikaru is Inori. I say let Hikaru win the All-Japans, but have Inori win their next revenge match - possibly on a bigger stage.
Banner nomination: yet another picturesque shot

- Comment on [Episode] Gnosia - Episode 21 discussion 4 days ago:
I see this is one of those series that you’ve got to rewatch once you have the additional context.
I still have questions that went unanswered though e.g. why did Manan/Kukrushka went on rampage that one time, but not in any other loops?
In fact, this episode spawned more questions, like: why is it that Manan’s consciousness transfer only succeeds if she got infected by Gnosia?
All in all, I enjoyed the series a lot - even with the unresolved plot threads. If there’s one thing I’m a little disappointed about, it’s the lack of a big conspiracy.
It’s been a fun watch.

Sick twist as usual. I would have never guessed that Sae is a cupid.
I wonder what her motivation is. Maybe she is a yandere who wants to be with Hasumi / Ena forever.

This final season is just as good as previous seasons, keeping me hooked throughout.
It felt a bit rushed towards the end though, with some unresolved plot threads.
last episode spoiler
I don’t mind the rushed epilogue - that shows what happened to most of them after - since it isn’t really crucial to the story. The part I mind is the connection between Melon and the mayor that the show hinted at. The mayor clearly recognised Melon’s name when Louis wrote it down. Also, the mayor went to such effort to blackmail Louis’ father, which doesn’t seem worth the ROI. My guess is that there’s some big conspiracy regarding the Zoolympic and fake meat and Melon’s plan of segregation.
Sadly, that was never addressed.
The positives still heavily outweigh the negatives; I enjoyed it a lot. I’m glad it ended the way it did - though I may need to check the manga out to see all the details that were left out.

Hoshino Aqua confirmed for the role of the murderer
Easiest prediction, kinda? Since the plot has to be condensed into a movie, I guess they would combine the mastermind and stabber into one role, so this prediction can still be 100% right.
The competition for Ai’s role is really down to just Ruby and Akane now. I would have went all in on Ruby, if not for the fact that Akane is going last - and we know to always save the best for the last - in their private audition.
Aqua monologueing like a villain
They have made it obvious from the outset that Ruby takes heavily after their mother. The less obvious one (or maybe it’s obvious to y’all?) is Aqua, who is slowly revealed to be taking after their father.
With only two episodes left, there’s no way they can fully cover this arc. One meta detail is that this season is 11 episodes long, not 12. I bet they would announce a continuation once this season ends like with previous seasons. This would be so meta, but I won’t be surprised if the continuation takes the form of a movie.

I wasn’t expecting the bad guys to be stealing the magical energy - as opposed to money - but that makes sense. The sacred relic stuff involves fewer people and is dealt with more secrecy than the national budget, giving them greater control over the whole operation. That’s why they can keep it under wraps for so long even with a sharp prime minister in charge.
I was so off about a potential assassination attempt, but that wayward magical energy - that just has to fly in the direction of Seiichirou - means that Aresh and Seiichirou are going to have some quality time together 😏

The one-word title for the episode is genius as usual. So many layers / levels of metaphors (? if that is the right term): alluded to in the definition of “curse”, Asa’s and Emiri’s friendship, society’s treatment of women / sexism, maybe more that I missed.

Tsukasa looking out over the lake while piggybacking Inori
This last scene accompanied by the soundtrack is just too beautiful. This episode is up there with episode 3 for my favourites episodes of this season of Medalist.

Ooh I’m glad they are going to address Kukrushka, even if it is at the very end. It’s unreal to think that they would be wrapping everything up in one episode though.
Actual episode discussion:
Seeing Yuri get cyberised in this episode got me thinking: have we ever seen Yuri get cyberised previously? Did all of the Gnosia somehow avoid cyberising Yuri, in all time loops? It’s crazy how this hasn’t occurred before.
Also, what are Gnosia really? We know that they are infected, but by what exactly? If people are cyberised, they get absorbed into the Gnos hivemind, so I can only assume that they are not some cyberised beings.
Why is the Hoshibune cult so intent on cyberising others? It doesn’t seem like the members are Gnosia themselves (or at least not all of them).
Lastly, I’m surprised that there is essentially no interaction between Yuri and Gnos. I thought it would be more eventful, given that this bug Yuri is special existence created by Gnos. I guess we would learn the purpose behind Yuri’s creation in the next episode.
Banner nomination: 🥵🥵
