Past Seasons
I gave Tomo-chan Is a Girl! one episode. It is decent, but not good enough to keep me watching.
Also, I dislike the male lead, Junichirou. Based on his interactions with their mutual friend Misuzu, I don’t think he is dense. But that just makes the fact that he does not acknowledge Tomo’s feelings much worse.
I also tried The Quintessential Quintuplets. I enjoyed it more than Tomo-chan, so I have watched up to episode 10. However, I don’t really like the latest development in the show. It is rather cliche, and the male lead, Fuutarou, has been fumbling it so badly.
I don’t get the praise others have for Fuutarou. He is not spineless and trashy like other romance / romcom / harem protagonists. However, he can be pretty selfish at times which is a turn-off.
I hope that the last two episodes can salvage the show, but I don’t have high hopes for it. I may not continue with season 2.
This Season
I have watched 2 episodes of Umamusume: Cinderella Gray - it is so fucking hype!
I don’t usually watch sports shows, but I have noticed that the protagonist is always the underdog who overcome all odds to achieve greatness. It is a very standard plot, but if the execution is good, I don’t mind giving it my time.
Umamusume: Cinderella Gray’s first two episodes certainly delivered, so I will be catching up with the rest of it.

Here’s a dumb meta prediction:
the creators of TBHX are going a announce a video game. It will be a PvP, 5v5 MOBA game.
The starting roster will be these first 10 heroes.
So far, the way the story is going reminds me of the lore behind these games. There would be 2 or more rival factions, and heroes would fight each other on behalf of their factions.

I have just completed Beastars final season (part 1) and it is just as good as the previous seasons.
The antagonist, Melon, reminds me of the Joker. In fact, Legoshi gives me Batman vibes.
As with before, my nitpick has to do with the classification of animals. It still annoys me to see the anteater grouped together with herbivores whereas the hippo got lumped in with carnivores.
Also, omnivores as a category were ignored, with omnivorous animals getting thrown into one of the herbivore / carnivore faction for the sake of the narrative.
Otherwise, the characters, storytelling, fight scenes, etc are peak as usual, so it’s a 10 / 10.
Unfortunately, it seems that we don’t have a release date of part 2 just yet.
P.S. Juno is wasted on her love interests. I hope she won’t go down a losing heroine route.

Last episode, I thought Shang Chao is part of the association that governs heroes and is in on the conspiracy. This episode proved me wrong.
Also, based on what we have seen of Yang Cheng, I don’t think he’s really involved in Moon’s death at the end of episode 4. He seems like the kind of sod to always be at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Apothecary Diaries is one of the few shows that mastered “show, don’t tell”, which makes it so good.
To do so, the creator probably has a great deal of trust in the intelligence of their audience. Respect.
Also, the rear palace’s security is appalling.

The mangaka is so good at portraying the tension between Eito and Noel.
Looks like we are getting a cliche development for the next chapter. I wonder if the mangaka can surprise us. Otherwise, it’s going the typical route of having the handsome male lead saving the day.

To be honest, I expected the ending. It’s always a prank played by friends, followed by a reveal that there was in fact something spooky all along.

I picked up To Be Hero X over the past week. The plot is kinda basic, but I have been enjoying it so much anyway. The drama and politics(?) is like a blend of One Punch Man and Oshi no Ko. Also, it doesn’t have a single soundtrack that I dislike. Each one of them is a banger.
