Here’s my two cents:
- I think this is one of the rare instance where we see fire being super effective against water
- I like the mother and daughter as much as the father
- I’m so glad to see Narnia being recognised as an isekai
- I’m even more glad to see how the mother and daughter understood that the father got isekai-ed immediately. I wish more media (game, tv, movie, books) etc have characters who actually are aware of tropes. The one that annoys me most are zombie movies. Somehow, the stories are always set in universes where zombies are unheard of.

I completed the Shirobako series over the past few weeks.
This is probably one of the most relatable anime for me. At first I thought it’s because 95% (or some other stupidly high percentage) of software development work is in fact common to most other jobs as per Working with Coders.
However, the more I watch it, the more I realised just how similar anime production is to software development. It’s not just the stand-up meetings, the team dynamics, suffering from burnout, etc. Even the creative process - the way animators / designers / etc approach their work - is so similar to building software.
Picking just one example out of many,

when the goth animator drew that one line to make the animation complete, it’s basically like when a senior dev make a change to just one line of code that resolves a big issue.
With all the similarities, this anime may have as well been about making software.
Quality-wise (encompassing characters, story, and everything else), this anime is top-notch too. To be fair, it’ll be ironic if an anime about making anime is badly produced.
As with any series that I’m extremely impressed by, I’m giving it a 10 / 10.
P.S. I would totally watch 3rd Girl Fighter Wing if it’s an actual anime

I picked up 3 LGBTQ+ manga
Gal-loving JK Wants to be a Gal - So far, this is a typical lesbian school romance with nothing to differentiate it from other similar works. The “Award Winning” tag got me interested though.
Yuri Yuri Panic ~ An Extremely Precious Affair has Begun!~ - This is some weird shit, which makes it perfect for me. We need more zany stuff.
Uesugi-kun Wants to Quit Being a Girl - Picked this one up thanks to the discussion thread by @PrincessKadath@ani.social. It reminds me of Maid Hachiya-kun Is In Love and NG Life. It is one of the few rare instances of works that feature a MTF trans protagonist and actually address the issue of menstruation. Like, you are telling me all those isekai transgender protagonists just accept their new bodies without any complaints and can go straight to adventuring like it’s no big deal!? The only other manga that talks about transgender period in recent memory is Introduction To Girlhood / Shoujo Nyuumon. And from not-so-recent memory, The Day He Becomes a Woman

Given the theme of 2 - anime season 2, chapter 200, girlfriend number 32 - I’m guessing that there’s no better time to introduce twins. The hard one would be their quirk. Maybe they will swap personalities depending on whether it’s day or night?

I can’t remember / don’t know if it carried over from the manga / novel, but this show wasn’t even trying when it comes to twists. It’s as though the studio want the viewer to know that the traitor is going to turn on them.

It’s alright. It reminds me of Webtoon Character Na Kang Lim, but is more serious instead of comedic.

My irl workload continued to be crazy this week. So, that is a contributing factor to the late posting of this thread.
Since these weekly discussion threads tend to follow a standard format, how about scheduling it to be posted at a certain time every week? It can be done for free (and easily in my experience) with cron-job.org.
The only problem I foresee with this approach is when the post body got to be different from usual. In that case, one just has to edit the post body manually like what has been done so far.

This episode’s antagonist is the dumbest and most unrealistic. What’s his exit strategy? Like, you go on a rampage in town - with your identity exposed - and you’re pretty much at least going to jail. The only people who do so are the likes of mass shooters with a death wish and suicide bombers because they don’t expect to live.
Also, Alina doesn’t seem to learn. You’d think she would start wear a mask after last episode, but no. Plus, masks are so cool.

All of this happening from the old guy’s perspective before the accident should’ve been in the premiere episode, but they did it at the start of this one instead.
