Lemmy on Voyager is flawless as fuck.
In fact I have been lately on Bluesky and spending much more time there these days, since people who I respect say “it’s an open standard” and “a true bulwark to the next Musk or whoever wants to buy it”, but I regularly find myself wondering, “what am I looking for here [on Bluesky]?”
The anonymity of reddit type platforms, of which Lemmy is the most future proof, is highly preferable. Bluesky (Twitter/Xitter, etc) feels lie a bunch of ‘identities’ wanting on some level to get the karma their post deserves plus the karma their identity ‘deserves’

Also in that field, but… I think you have to acknowledge that being, usually, in your example 1) at work and 2) on a computer, make people that much less interested in giving a shit. Compare to various systems people use in their free time, and you probably see that people are pretty good at attending to the things they think matter.
Capitalism, or, at the very very least, unfettered capitalism, are the real problem, not people writ large.

Been watching Band of Brothers (then of course the sequel, The Pacific) and gameplay from The Darkness for this very “no particular reason”. The Darkness feels more cathartic.

Do not taunt them or they will further erode their meager anti-bird flu measures and bring us a 2nd pandemic with Trump as “leader of the free world”

I think they’re better at networking than the left. The moment there’s the slightest, most microscopically plausible counterpoint to something, it seems like they’re all bellowing it as if it’s the most obvious, incontrovertible thing on earth.
Then again I’m American where we seem to be especially in the dark on climate science.

Like when they say “cLiMaTe ChAnGe Is NoThInG NeW” and try to tell you “the climate has been changing for thousands of years”

Republicans and climate science deniers favorite fun fact

Then again, Lemmy and ActivityPub are (by design) wide open to anyone, including TenCent

They once did a good thing that one time - and were American, at that moment at least. -Ish.

Just learned this is Usha Vance, I think? Would explain some things… (JD Vance said his wife is a “corporate litigator” or something like that, in the recent US Vice Presidential debate)
