That’s not what this law is about, but yes actually they do!
I’m not even in the UK and my domains get hit by UK authorities that claim to be scanning for vulnerabilities

I just use Firefox with extensions on mobile honestly

Was YouTube ever profitable?
- Comment on How much maintenance do you find your self-hosting involves? 2 months ago:
If my ISP didn’t constantly break my network from their side, I’d have effectively no downtime and nearly zero maintenance. I don’t live on the bleeding edge and I don’t do anything particularly experimental and most of my containers are as minimal as possible
I built my own x86 router with OpnSense Proxmox hypervisor Cheapo WiFi AP Thinkcentre NAS (just 1 drive, debian with Samba) Containers: Tor relay, gonic, corrade, owot, apache, backups, dns, owncast
All of this just works if I leave it alone

To quote them directly
… it will not be possible to offer refunds for Ultimate Edition buyers.
we will compensate Ultimate Edition holders by adding 3 Creator Packs and 3 Radio Stations which, together, sum up to a value of USD 39.99.
translated: We are sorry you did not like our fart gas that we pretended was gold. Unfortunately we cannot refund you because we just can’t ok stop asking questions. Here are 3 polished turds and some mp3 files that we have valued to be worth 40 dollars as a reward for your loyalty!

The torx we got in the toolset I use are probably just kinda shitty, honestly
- Comment on Whoops 2 months ago:
I’m actually conflicted; I have a lot more trouble with torx at work than I do alan, but phillips are universally a problem. The torx keys don’t stick in the hole and can’t be tilted at odd angles where as alan keys with a ball head can, and do stick in the hole to some degree which lets me free-spin it. I’ve ruined a lot more torx from over-torgue than I have alan keys. I would take torx over alan keys if it meant I never had to see a phillips again, though

total torx supremacy

“Playable”
for the record I paid for this and am watching with hopeful eyes, but please stop pretending that being able to launch the game and walk around is playing
- Comment on How do you manage your server files? 3 months ago:
rsync for backups. SMB / NFS for things I need on a daily basis. SSH FTP (use whatever client you want) for things I need rarely but don’t wanna bother with SCP and I especially don’t bother ever bother setting up vsftpd for ‘real’ FTP.

I’m very uncertain about your network topology. Why is WAN 192.168.x.x?

I’m not really sure what this does that necessitates all of this code and backend? I just have a single HTML file with embedded CSS, and it looks better than their demo.
- Comment on Browser maker love-in snubs Google-shunned JPEG XL 4 months ago:
Just keep using jpeg for old files.
And bloat up my codebase with support for a new file extension every 2-5 years? I’ll just keep using jpg, then, like the rest of the sane internet, and the format will never die. JXL offered an actual upgrade path, webp and avif doesn’t.
- Comment on Browser maker love-in snubs Google-shunned JPEG XL 4 months ago:
Mozilla are also dumb, yes, but they aren’t the one in control of 90% of the browser marketshare.
- Comment on Browser maker love-in snubs Google-shunned JPEG XL 4 months ago:
I’m a photographer; AVIF and WebP do not serve my needs, JPEG-XL does.
I run my own website down to the hardware in my living room; I will not store 5 variations of any 1 picture just so I can serve the best available to clients when JPEG works everywhere and JPEG-XL offers me a lossless transition from JPG to JXL.
Chromium is literally the only reason JPEG-XL isn’t being adopted right now, and it’s so obvious that Google is pulling those strings.
JPEG-XL Ride or Die.

It would be nice if DDG would start showing me the results I searched for, man
Feel like I’ve been going insane the past month, have to go Google things because DDG just seems to have no clue about simple queries.
