it’s more wild how eager libs are to insist that a small, relatively poor country that has no real relevance to most people’s lives is some kind of wacky hermit kingdom where you can be executed by artillery strike for having the wrong haircut, every city is made of cardboard for propaganda purposes, and people have to push the trains along the tracks
especially when all of this is presented with no evidence, is often directly contradictory, and makes absolutely no sense if you think about it for more than five minutes

Why won’t someone defend the NK when they’re literally fighting for their freedom? They’re literally blockaded by the US and threatened with invasion drills every single year, not to mention that the US literally occupies the south with military bases.

Because NK is a despotic hellhole. The rational stance on the Korean war is to stay the hell out of it, both sides are horrible examples of states failing their only purpose. Whatever magical utopia you think NK will become without the intervention of capital and capitalism is just a fantasy that will not happen, not in North Korea.

Which is why you should be advocating for american troops to leave Korea and lift the economic blockade, not demonize the DPRK.

That’s straight up not true. Yes, being attacked by America will cause some terrible consequences, they don’t need to devolve into a totalitarian shithole. And you are the weird one for not being and to hold multiple opinions at once. I can acknowledge that America is bad without glorifying regimes at least as bad as America.
