First one is about Germany, not UK. Secondly, you do realise wikipedia is unreliable, prone to edit wars and subject to those that have the most passion for a topic (like free speech “absolutists”/racists).
Can you find a UK example that you think overstepped the line?
I’m in the UK, critical of Israel and not been arrested yet…
It’s always interesting seeing distrorted American views of the UK.
- Comment on Labour MPs begin quitting X over ‘hate and disinformation’ 3 months ago:
No you cannot. Assuming you’re not from the UK.
Stirring up racial hatred and geeing people up to burn down hotels holding refugees is not free speech.
- Comment on Labour MPs begin quitting X over ‘hate and disinformation’ 3 months ago:
Fair point. I thought you were implying the opposite. I misread your initial point.
- Comment on Labour MPs begin quitting X over ‘hate and disinformation’ 3 months ago:
Can you explain this point?
- Comment on How come as of today I can't access politics@lemmy.ml from lemmy.world? 3 months ago:
What?
Was that just an embarrassed verbal vomit?
You were wrong, and rather than admitting, or leaving it, you continue trying to spew words in the hope that you confuse people from realising you were wrong. Are you that insecure?
- Comment on How come as of today I can't access politics@lemmy.ml from lemmy.world? 3 months ago:
What you are referring to is heuristics. It’s simplistic. Effective for wild animals that require information quickly, but not so much for civilised humans that require a greater deal of accuracy.
You demonstrated the ineffectiveness of the approach by assuming I’m a Democrat or even American.
The skill is in understanding the process, the floor and developing a capability for critical thought. You’ll get there eventually, hopefully.

I’m on that instance and not a tankie. I’m politically left, but object completely to authoritarianism and justification of atrocities.
So yeah, I get annoyed when pricks generalise and wish my death upon me for thinking maybe we should help the poorest in society and don’t think the super Roch deserve every penny they get.
I find it ironic when people are hating on one political grouping and their conduct is no better than the ones they despise.
- Comment on How come as of today I can't access politics@lemmy.ml from lemmy.world? 3 months ago:
Wow, that’s a pretty discussing comment. You do not agree with a few peoples views, do generalise and want them to die. You’re worse than tankies.
- Comment on Did the largest Ukraine community & its instance got nuked? 4 months ago:
If Russia use them and NATO respond with nukes or anything that will cause major problems, they’ll send their nukes to the West (Europe, US), and the West will send them back.
Mutually assured destruction. The question would be who would survive? NZ? South America? Africa? Asia?
I’m fucked personally as I’m in the UK.
I would rather we didn’t masturbate over nuclear weapons because what happened to Japan would be nothing compared to the loss of life on a global scale. It is a good option for nobody.
- Comment on What are your complaints about Lemmy? 7 months ago:
It really isn’t. It inflates content from smaller communities.
- Comment on What are your complaints about Lemmy? 7 months ago:
Have you not checked scaled sort? It’s been around months and prioritises content in smaller communities over larger communities. Tie that with subscribed and you get exactly what is needed.

So you generalise anyone that uses an instance. I don’t think the problem is Lemmy.ml …

Care to explain…
- Comment on Lemmy.world seems to have banned the largest piracy community on Lemmy. 8 months ago:
I’m not a tankie, and I haven’t been banned.
You sure you’re not confused with lemmygrad?
- Comment on Lemmy.world seems to have banned the largest piracy community on Lemmy. 8 months ago:
Never seen evidence of that…
- Comment on Lemmy.world seems to have banned the largest piracy community on Lemmy. 8 months ago:
Try a better instance. Lemm.ee and Lemmy.ml are both run by competent techies and less knee jerk intolerance to anything other than the prevailing opinion there.
- Comment on Lemmy.world seems to have banned the largest piracy community on Lemmy. 8 months ago:
Examples?
I occasionally see this argument but not yet seen any evidence to back it up.

Lemm.ee is pretty sweet and well run. Ml and ee are superior to world IMHO.

Try cassette beasts. Definitely scratches that itch. A great indie game.

I take personal offense to that. How do you not?
- Comment on queer.af, a Mastodon instance, has been killed by the Taliban 10 months ago:
Well, they run Afghanistan and af is the country code. They picked a domain that they thought was cute, funny or clever and didn’t consider longevity or risk. It’s on them. If I make a website. I won’t pick a silly extension that won’t survive long.
- Comment on queer.af, a Mastodon instance, has been killed by the Taliban 10 months ago:
If you’re on the country code, you open yourself up to risk.ml has been a risk before.
Your headline is misleading. Taliban didn’t kill it. Admin did.
