I want to but I don’t own FO3, and at this point i’m waiting to see if a remaster is real. Kinda burnt out on Fallout at this point and need a break anyway.
- Comment on Fallout: New Vegas Remaster Hopes Go Into Overdrive as Support Studio Drops Tease 3 days ago:
yeah, as someone who just played through New Vegas again due to S2 of the show, it would have to be some serious quality of life changes to make me shell out for it again.
I have never played FO3 though and im putting my hope capital into willing that into existence
- Comment on Amazon BUSTED for Widespread Scheme to Inflate Prices Across the Economy— Amazon, its vendors, and competing retailers are price fixing, hiking up prices for consumer products 1 week ago:
yes, always disappointing when this happens, but you can usually find vendors who avoid the practice (with some trial and error).

This has been my play since last February. In some ways it sucks, because Amazon really cornered the market on niche solutions to niche problems. However, when there is something I absolutely need I try to look for a local solution and if I can’t find that, I use eBay. By no means a perfect solution (ie. a lot of the eBay vendors still use Amazon to fulfill their shipments) but my mindset shifted from “oh yeah go on Amazon and press Buy Now immediately” to really working through a solution, and whether or not I need to purchase an item to enact that solution.
- Comment on Federated End-to-End Encrypted Messaging is Coming Soon 1 week ago:
One benefit is that Signal controls all the infrastructure and some people do not like that. Sure, you could also spin up a Matrix home server, but that isn’t an ideal solution for everyone either. Some people want to do messaging via their existing ActivityPub infrastructure and that’s OK.

You cannot, two totally different protocols

What kind of performance are you getting with that? Wondering if I can pick up something like that to play some 2d platformers, maybe some low poly 3D stuff (think Overcooked or Moving Out). Been doing more of that stuff in my living room with my kids.

I’d love for you to explain why you think a self hosted Codeberg is problematic and implies they don’t know how to use git.

Yes, but it’s not relevant to the point I was making

Intentionally, I think.
- Comment on Tawny Newsome Says Live Action Star Trek Workplace Comedy Will Explore Life Outside The Federation 1 year ago:
Love this. I don’t agree with the sentiment that Trek is being overdone - I’d rather have a slate of options and sit through the “bad” than have to wait years to get anything close to good.
Like, I enjoyed parts of Picard, but on the whole, it didn’t work out (maybe given the serial nature of each season, or cramming pretty ambitious ideas into 10 episodes each season). But I’ll take that any day over having to wait a week at a time for a “filler” episode.
Still hoping for a Klingon focused show… would love anything where a federation vessel isn’t the primary setting!
- Comment on If you hoard video games and aren’t selfhosting GameVault yet, you’re missing out! 1 year ago:
Don’t want to pile on but the lack of a web client in favor of a Windows Store client really kills this for me. I mean, I’m not even on windows so it’s a deal breaker anyway. Would love to get this talking to Lutris somehow.
Also going to pile on a bit about your use of Discord, it is walling off information in a proprietary communication channel. Support tickets should be handled on the web so others can easily tack on if they are experiencing the same issues etc.
- Comment on Jack Black is what happens when the class clown doesn't become depressed and instead becomes even more of a clown 1 year ago:
He said something, as he was making a birthday wish on stage, to the effect of “I hope the next shooter doesn’t miss”. For context it was like 2 days after the first Trump attempted shooting
- Comment on [Cory Doctorow] With An Audacious Plan To Halt The Internet’s Enshittification And Throw It Into Reverse 1 year ago:
Does that invalidate his point regarding enshittification?
I think it might matter if Cory came out and said, I am starting an org with the resources to fix it. But I don’t see how this tidbit is relevant for a guy who coined the term about what’s happening here and has been beating the drum about the problem.
