I have tried trillium, it looks good but mi y main issue is that the notes are not plain text markdown. It using its internat l database that makes syncing to other devices with syncthing harder. But yeah, otherwise great alternative.

The main difference is that having a home server means You are in complete control over Your data. You can run home server and isolate it from the internet, running only on local network. Great for privacy and You are not relying on some external provider being reliable and available.
It also has it’s downsides. You have to maintain the server, keeping it up-to-date. Checking if some components need upgrading or replacing - which is mainly about having healthy drives so You do not loose all Your data.

Started my own hime server about a year or so ago. Currently hosting Immich for me and my gf. Jellyfin for archiving movies shows and downloaded YT videos. Forgejo for local git where I backup my work. Homeassistant to manage lights in the appartment and some othe small stuff. Linkwarden to archive important websites and links I might need in the future (docs for work, how-tos for the server itself so I dont loose all that setup kbowledge). Syncthing to sync files between multiple devices - which is awesome, easy to setup and pair folders. Seafile to share files.
It has been great, it draws around 20-30W idle.
I am currently in search for Obsidian and Bitwarden self hosted alternative that can be run in docker container - if anyone has some ideas I am all ears.

The rate is higher because we can “catch” more cases with better diagnosis.
Imagine machine that is throwing 100 balls per second. Another machine that can catch 10 balls per second. You catch 10 balls.
Now newer machine can catch 20, and newer can catch 50.
Does that mean the number of thrown balls is higher? No. It just means we have machines better at caching them. The same goes for any illness, autism, schizophrenia, cancer, depression…
Some ilnesses we are better at curing, does that mean the the illness is getting weaker?

The source is “I made it the fuck up!”
Also ignoring improvements in diagnostics.

Only thing I have ised this for was making funny edit to have fun with my family and removig unwanted elements from photos (people on beach or trash in alleys), but I can imagine people will use this to fake their online lives even more.

I have had few phones over the years, few of them I damaged by using them in bad conditions, mainly on construction sites.
As far I can remember I have never cracked the screen. Phones are and always were fragile, its a piece of condensed technology, with large glass screen. What do people expect from glass dropped from 1m? Just take care of your shit.
It always amazes me how can people cary their phones in back pocket or just throw it in the bag with keys or other sharp objects.

Yeah I used to have my MP3 Bean filled with random music gathered from friends. Little red triangular player, lasted for like three weeks on one charge, just music, no [artist] radio bs on Spotify. My phone lasts one day, if I don’t play music.

Yeah, it worked much better than our current USB bluetooth dogle that lags every 30 seconds. Just because we could not get radio wit cassette player. I still have the cassette adapter.
