I primarily use Discord as a one stop shop to play and run dnd campaigns. I first hopped on it around 2017, and its was way better than any other group chat app. Around the pandemic all my groups started playing on it and it became relatively seamless. I joined exactly one streamers discord but that is totally it. In general I wouldn’t expect it to be a good archive, or forum, nor do I expect it to be secure. I use armchord on PC. I started using it before it was enshittified. For what it does, it does it pretty well.
For the record, I have used matrix and Signal. I think both have the issue that a critical mass of my friends don’t use them. I liked Signal a lot when it had SMS support. I used it as a my primary SMS app, and some of my friends had signal as well, so that was cool. now its more like a specialized messenger app, and I fucking hate having yet another one of those on my phone. Matrix encryption keys are giant stumbling blocks to my friends who do give a fuck. I play ttrpgs with some people who could not give a fuck. I would have to set up the server, set up the account, and then I would have have to do the encryption key for them. And like people say, Matrix logs you out every little while. You can turn notifications off and totally forget about it. For my non techy friends, this is literally a bridge too far.
I literally have two friends who think Matrix is cool. No one else even has an account, much less a server. And the support to meet people who have this app is very limited. Cool, but I think it will always be a niche.

Okay first thing: there is no mainstream left in US politics. AOC and Bernie taper off at a hair left of center. I don’t even dislike them. And normally that would be fine, but the right does include flamboyant, and very loud fascists. So the right has no counter weight, and what there is are Centrist Libs, who long for days of “reaching across the isle”, and “order,” and “civility” While people talk about Fascists projecting, the Libs are too, and they think everyone approaches politics that. They don’t realize the fascist uses their invitation to get, and civility as a mask, to play the game, and uses any means they can to gain power, and then disposes of the libs when they don’t need them anymore, and left, like Eddard Stark holding a piece of paper like his dick in the breeze.
This last piece of this is that there is an aspect of the left that matches what you say, the so called “dirt bag left,” streamers like Vaush and Hassan Abi, and Chapo Trap House. They are in fact quite controversy prone, and I don’t think they are good people, but I think they do match the general vibe of your statement.

Thanks for being among the few serious posters (although I am not downplaying how funny this thread ended up being.
For the bedroom, I was considering a hanging chair that can slide across the bedroom. I was actually thinking about mounting a desk on collapsing brackets, so the chair slides into place next to it or can used to join small sitting area.
The other thing I was considering is a sliding half wall for both. I was thinking for the kitchen mounting a spice rack (like the handyman suggested.) I haven’t considered what i would mount on the bed room half wall yet. If i don’t mount a hanging chair on it, then my arm chair and bed will be on opposite sides of the track (and opposite corners of the room). Not sure. I have soem time to consider it.

All of the tutorials I have discovered have said if you were to cut hollow doors, then you should glue a piece to the open bottom. They cautioned it might sag with time though. Right now there is no full frame. I gave measurements for rough opening in the OP.

I am still currently taking suggestions; we have been waiting on various inspections. they are in fact interior partitions. There is sheet rock up. I certainly hope not to keep changing them out. In light of your suggestions, I am going to go ahead and cut some doors.
Do you recommend hollow doors or solid core? is either easier to cut? are there any special properties to cut one over the other? Should I buy pre-hung? If i do, Im going to have to cut the frames too, right? but Ill have to hire someone to hang a door other wise?
- Comment on Big swinging doors 8 months ago:
so I should get solid core and cut them? what about cutting the door frames? Should I just hire someone to make a whole new frame?

If you go through the front page, there is usually only 100 shows the platform is pushing, ad nauseam. Like the algorithm is maybe some shows it thinks youll like, or shows they want to astroturf. I would really like a way to go into the dregs, the shit, the stuff netflix thinks is at the bottom of my metrics. Granted, piracy doesn’t do this either (lol how would that even work? I put everything on that server myself) but I would have considered keeping my subscription if they did.

The main issue that there is noise passes basically unimpeded. My living space is directly under my sisters room. She can hear my phone conversations. I leave videos on softly to fall asleep to, and the straw that broke the camels back was one woke her up in the middle of the night, and she had a big test in the morning. I certainly dont need her to hear me when Im jerking off.
I guess I should mention, due to the placement, there is a hot air register that passes between our rooms.
