- Comment on Why are weather apps so bad at telling you the current weather? 3 months ago:
Not really. Using % of forecast area as % chance of rain inherently gives equal weight to your position being anywhere within that area. Even if you limit the forecast area to the 5m or whatever it is radius that smartphone GPS is typically accurate to which a weather app could theoretically do, simply using % of the forecast area covered as % chance of rain inherently gives equal probability of you being literally anywhere within that 5m radius. It would obviously still be more accurate, but those numbers wouldn’t be the same thing.

Because they’re not in it for profit. It’s a project of the chuds at the Daily Wire. Any profit is a side effect of their true goal, right wing culture war. It exists to take money from their fans and use their “successful business” to prove that they’re correct. They’d still do it even if it wasn’t profitable just to push their preferred narrative.
- Comment on Real Facebook ad that doubles as a god-tier shitpost 3 months ago:
Not a piss take. But yes part of the show. It’s entirely owned and operated by the chuds at the Daily Wire and their entire purpose is right wing culture war. It’s just classic conservative grifting

They don’t. If you look into them it’s entirely a company owned by the same guy that owns The Daily Wire. It’s literally only there to grift from their audience and further their culture war.

Of course. It’s not political if it’s just The Way Things Should Be™
The two Races: White and Political The two Genders: Male and Political The two Sexualities: Straight and Political
Their views are never “political” because theirs is the “natural state” of things. They’re on top because they deserve to be, and they deserve to be on top because they are. It’s anything that deviates from that so-called natural state that’s being political.

I believe that is Revy from Black Lagoon.
- Comment on YSK there is a massive Google Doc of U.S. gynecologists that will tie your tubes without asking about your kids, marital status or age. 3 months ago:
Generally yes vasectomy is safer. But if they’re planning to give birth via c-section for whatever reason for example, then in practical terms there’s basically no additional risk. Plus neither method is totally effective. So if you can both get fixed you have much better chances of not getting pregnant accidentally.
- Comment on YSK there is a massive Google Doc of U.S. gynecologists that will tie your tubes without asking about your kids, marital status or age. 3 months ago:
We moved hospitals for the birth of our twins to find one that was willing to tie her tubes when they took the twins out. She ended up having to have a hysterectomy for other reasons later but them being willing to tie her tubes during the c-section was a big part of our decision on doctors to see.
My mom had a hell of a time getting her tubes tied after my brother was born. She had to argue with the doctor for a while to eventually get it done. Gave her the old “What if you change your mind later?” line in like 5 different variations. The one that really angered me though when she told me the story was “What if something happens to one of your children?” Like you were just replacing a busted TV or something.

Specifically the character from The Ring movie. The person whose specific vengeful spirit haunts the video tape. It’s been ages since I’ve seen it but I think they changed her name to Samara in the international release but in the original Japanese film the person whose ghost haunts the tape is named Sadako.

Last I knew, yeah. Google bought them years ago. Moreover, I don’t remember that “feature” being in Waze before Google acquired them. Those ads were the biggest reason I dropped Waze a while back.

Between my ADHD and the amount of different places we go for groceries I can never remember well enough where anything is to get mad about them changing it. My wife though has finally gotten to the point where the music they play on the radio in the grocery stores is actually getting good which was her sign she’s getting old.

My oldest son is autistic and has taste and texture aversions that are powerful enough that he will sooner starve himself than eat something that isn’t right. So when we find something he will just eat? You better believe we are buying as much as our fixed budget can support. There’s a mighty rage to be had from us when something he does eat gets changed or discontinued.
- Comment on We're all a little crazy 6 months ago:
Years ago I had really severe anxiety and intrusive thoughts. I noticed though as my anxiety got better through among other things therapy that the intrusive thoughts took on a new form; Unbidden and often times inappropriate shitposting IRL.
Personally, most of the time I don’t really hear my internal monologue. It’s there but it kinda tends to get drowned out by a constant swirl of other random thoughts unless I externalize it and talk to myself, but I do hear the intrusive thoughts loud and clear. Add those things together and I like to joke that I accidentally manifested a shitpost tulpa.
Then because I found this thought amusing I came up with an entire character to put to it.

I believe they’re referring to the upcoming Manifest V3 changes. My understanding is that currently uBlock uses the old Manifest V2 that they’re ending support for once V3 gets pushed. I believe there is a V3 version of uBlock but because of the limitations in V3 it’s not as effective at blocking ads.

I’ve got some furry friends and there’s a whole spectrum. You can run into everything from the mostly human with some animal features like the kemonomimi trope to full anthropomorphic animals. Depends on the person really.
