GERIATRIC DYSFUNCTION
Age-related decline is the kind of fact that Democrats with their individual rights-based mindset struggle to approach honestly and openly, and the consequences for our Federal Government have become catastrophic.
WHO WERE THEY?
John Roberts, whose lack of object permanence about Trump mean that he’s once again chiding Trump in some boomer delusion that Trump is capable of listening or caring. John Roberts was instructed by the Constitution to provide Justice: instead he provided an abstract theory of justice and then lived in the dysfunctional delusional boomer narrative. His cowardice is indistinguishable from age-related decline.
Schumer is old and reacting with the sclerotic confusion of the old.
When facts stopped mattering to the geriatric masses, the only cure is the removal of the geriatrics from politics: no legislator, executive, or judge over 65 is fit to hold that position. This is a matter of basic competence.
BUT MUH INDIVIDUAL CAPABILITIES
No.
An individual under 35 might have the capability to be President, but Ageism is good actually.
Every individual who dies in office immediately shits and leaves a stain on Congress as a final act. There is no need to deal with the faulty geriatric bodies, let alone the minds which have failed to even comprehend the destructive disease of Trump and Trumpism.
As in Schumer clearly doesn’t understand what timeline he is living in. None of the geriatric democrats do.
Mystery: Gen X
So, the theory goes, why does Gen X support them in their dysfunctional, selfish ambition?
A: They are deluded by their proximity to age-related decline. The Gen X political operatives of the Democrat Party have a motive to support the Boomer Delusion of Age-related Wisdom even as that “wisdom” involves the federal government which is supposed to represent The People in an undeclared war, with another geriatric head of state, in a total usurpation of the enumerated power of Congress.
It is ridiculous that we are having to debate the nature of age-related decline. Trump, Trumpism is a catastrophe.
Never before
Has a full cohort, a baby boom, survived for so long into geriatric decline. The effects of this mass geriatric decline on our politics are the primary failure to contain the obvious fascist criminal Trump. Republicans are racist, sexist, lawless fascists, but the Democrat response has been sclerotic to an absurd, bizarre, and then perpetually horrifying degree.
The good news is that it is simple to solve this problem, that problem being age-related decline in the people whose delusional, grandiose belief in their continued competence is a despised frailty.
I think about how George Washington was 65 when he retired. I wonder if he’d have been able to if he had been even two years older. John Roberts was 67 when he literally lost his faculty of observation, in the sense that he was not oriented to the person of Trump and what Trump had done and the threat to the future of the country which Trump represented.

Where are people going?
Lemmy Isn’t Quite It? Mastodon is too formal. Blusky is too political.
Lemmy was a clone of Reddit. Not an improvement on it.

It’s better to hurt old people’s feelings than allow them to continue to debase themselves with the false belief that they’re competent.
It’s possible to have a readily applicable standard for polite interactions when we’re not divided by fascist rhetoric.
The way feminists relate to men’s issues is often founded in a universalizing noxious ideology of feminism. Men shouldn’t be feminists, they should be allies.

What a childish take.

well your moral purity doesn’t matter because this is politics. the decisions we make about our society fall into grey areas and tough decisions. you don’t want to do that work you don’t have to, but you’re part of the problem if you think you’re being a decent person right now by grousing about indecency.
a moral vision isn’t enough, there must be a practical one, and if you’re useless in that endeavor, have the grace to stay out of politics.

I’ll at least admit the existence of patriarchy, which is more than you will get with Lemmy’s misogyny problem.
It’s weird that you found a way to center women in this topic about men. Please think about that.

I used the word “histrionic” – “histrio” is Latin for actor.
Elsewhere I said:
She’s performing histrionic masculinity; men who can’t control their emotions become a problem for the movement.
Quit being such a weak man, allowing your emotions to govern your reaction.
I’m a misandrist: men fucking suck, and your emotional incontinence is what makes men such a problem for women.
As to misogyny? I don’t think women are all that great, either, but I’d rather work with women than men, for the most part.
Provided they can woman up.

Your inability to control your valid trauma response is a hindrance for serious politics. Less histrionics, more calm thoughtfulness, please.
If you can’t handle being told this, you don’t want equality, you want handouts.
Shit is much harder for women in a grand variety of axes, but this is politics. Shit is hard for men, too, and if you’re not prepared to enter into these conversations to listen to men, if you come here to center women in a topic about men? You’re part of the problem with progressive politics.

I have more respect for open misandry than you might expect, but if your emotions are preventing you from crafting worthwhile politics, remove yourself from the situation.
The calm, reasonable people are talking, and histrionic performance like this is a step away from panicking.
Yes, I am telling you to calm the fuck down.

It’s not trivial to do but if you’re not willing to do the work, shut up.

You want to believe that young men are more complicated than they actually are. Your childish notions of men as complicated feelings creatures who need to open up and express their feelings oh wait not those feelings are part of the problem.
- Comment on What do you think the solution to selling progressive politics to young men is ? 8 months ago:
male feminists are just simping. male allies are good and proper, but men shouldn’t co-opt women’s issues by taking up the feminist label.
- Comment on What do you think the solution to selling progressive politics to young men is ? 8 months ago:
the universalizing ideology of feminism for men is incoherent
and if you react with anger to the fact that feminism is for women, you’re part of the problem, shut up.
feminism is full of lessons on how feminism helps women, men should read feminists
but it’s stupid to expect feminism/feminists to advocate for men’s issues
and it’s insulting to ask men to believe that all they have to do is be good feminists and they’ll get what they need.
if you’re a man and you want to write about how actually feminism is good for you, seriously shut the fuck up.
if you’re a woman and you want to write about how actually feminism is good for men, seriously shut the fuck up:
stop centering a tool for helping women, feminism, stop centering women, when men is the topic. do you understand? can you understand? the topic is men.

shitlib pop feminism does not want to hear that railing against the patriarchy isn’t especially helpful for men
