It’s super fast in comparison to full IDEs and is easier to use than most editors. I switch between vscode and notepad++ depending on what im doing.
- Comment on Fears of employee displacement as Amazon brings robots into warehouses 1 year ago:
I think you’re missing the point, those who lose their jobs to automation are somewhat random / due to environmental factors and not up to choice so it’s a bit weird suggesting that.
What they are suggesting is politicians will only act once enough people are suffering in the streets. Not necessarily saying it’s morally justified, just that what it takes for governments to take action. Nobody is defending how our politicians are failing us.
- Comment on YouTube intensifies fight against ad blockers showing pop-ups, and users are frustrated | Blocking ad-block users 1 year ago:
Some of us pay for premium but still use Revanced and Freetube because they are simply better youtube clients. Sponsorblock, themes, customizable UI, performance, etc. The adblocking is just icing on the cake
- Comment on Smith & Wesson celebrates new headquarters opening in gun-friendly Tennessee 1 year ago:
A lot of the seem low-effort near propaganda level posting, we’re talking r/conservative babylonbee type shit.
As for this post? Smith and Wesson are largely disliked for their promotion of a Proud Boys brand formed on Jan 6th under the name Perceeption. That put the gun maker off many enthusiasts list, it’s not tolerable no matter how much the company backpedeled - it signaled support for a dark part of our country.
- Comment on Seeing as this community is abandoned by the mods, I've made a new conservative community on lemm.ee 1 year ago:
Sure feels like it. I’ve seen countless low effort propaganda posts from Throwaway and their complaints anytime critical thought enters the discussion.
This community doesn’t appear abandoned, it just isn’t a locked down echo chamber like r/conservative on reddit, the place where users are banned, posts are locked to specific users, and topics which go against the narrative are taboo. That’s straight up unhealthy, unproductive, and dangerous. We can do better here.
Full disclosure: I am not a conservative myself but I appreciate an open community which doesn’t shut out discussion.

I’m torn because your cell phone use sounds pretty healthy but I worry others get a more negative experience overall especially with social media.
Also the idea of anyone prior to high-school having cell phones feels odd to me, when I was in school kids worked summer jobs to buy a phone so senior year of high school was a popular year to get into the cell phone game. I didn’t get one myself until I completed college and thought I’d need it for work (I didn’t). Hardly use it but it is expected to have once you’re in your mid 20s making appointments and whatnot. But do people really expect you to have one in elementary school?
- Comment on VR still makes 40-70% of players want to throw up, and that's a huge problem for the companies behind it 1 year ago:
there are pros/cons to each brand, plus there are tons of models across each product line. I own many headsets (index, vive original, vive xr elite, oculus dk2, quest 2) and honestly I can’t say any one of them is the best as each is unique from the screens (oled VS not), wired/wireless, full body tracking, standalone VS pc, comfort, etc
- Comment on Hell freezes over, MS Paint adds support for layers and PNG transparency 1 year ago:
I’ve found that level of locked down to be rare, usually portable apps still work. Still, running portable apps are risky since it’s likely against company policy and could be logged by IT.
- Comment on The proletarianization of tech workers 1 year ago:
Obviously not everyone has the same situation and some people are more privileged than others. But there is a huge difference between someone who has to work everyday VS someone who doesn’t. That doctor has to go to work, same as the programmer, or the manager. They all have unique lifestyles but they are all workers. They are the proletariat
- Comment on The proletarianization of tech workers 1 year ago:
I work in tech, not Google but I am compensated similarly. The reason you are getting my downvotes is because you’re missing the point. We worked our asses off to get where we are only to say we’re “not struggling” anymore and have early retirement plans in place because we were thoughtful in our career choices and personal budget. That’s a lot different from someone who had a retirement plan set from birth.
- Comment on The proletarianization of tech workers 1 year ago:
Working at Google is not what it used to be 20 years ago. Not only would an average CEO be better off but there are plenty of other tech companies better to work at as well. Google engineers are salary workers not much different than any other
