Just kill any innocent person then go to sleep
- Comment on Playing Oblivion for the first time 1 year ago:
While I’m an advocate for playing games canilla the first go around, Oblivion is a Bethesda game and therefore full of bugs. I’d recommend setting up a minimal mod list just to get essential fixes
- Comment on Is It Worth Learning Spring Boot in 2023 1 year ago:
As someone who works with this framework for a living, don’t learn it. It’s absolutely worth learning vanilla Java, but you can learn Sprint Boot on the job

- Comment on Typing is not a programming bottleneck 1 year ago:
It’s not so bad. I’m just a lowly webdev and my work with Java is mostly just basic CRUD operations
- Comment on Typing is not a programming bottleneck 1 year ago:
I write Java for a living and the places I’ve worked have used Lombok to cut down on the boilerplate code

Not so much for sysadmin (more so just for onboarding), but definitely in the cyber world where having a clearance is almost a requirement. They might not test all the time but during the investigation they basically want people who are clean cut or have at least had their act together for a few years
- Comment on i wanna have fun programming again 1 year ago:
LOL I went to school for cyber security and got into full stack web dev (graduated at the start of COVID, the job market sucked and I had a connection). Not gonna lie I enjoy where I’m at now. I’m a Linux nerd and I enjoy the cyber stuff but there’s no way I’m ever gonna stop smoking weed to get a security clearance or be on call as a sysadmin

- Comment on Why do people say that "return to office" is about raising commercial real estate prices? 1 year ago:
Unfortunately nearly every job posting I see (software developer in the US) is either in office or hybrid 3 days a week. I wish the in-office era was over but I don’t see that as a reality just yet, at least not for people with less than 10 years of experience

You’re gonna continue paying for shit that I will get for free, like it or not. People smarter than you and I have found solutions to this kind of greed for years and they’ll continue to do the same. So you can get on your high horse or you can shut your bitch ass up because we’re both getting the same content and I’m not paying shit. Again, shove your privilege up your ass because throwing money around doesn’t make you white-savior wannabe ass any more righteous than me

If you love watching ads so much go watch them. That’s the same boomer mentality that keeps cable alive to this day. I don’t care, I will never watch ads

- Comment on Vapes, chargers, and other “invisible” e-waste are a 9-million-ton problem. 1 year ago:
That’s sad to hear. I used to DIY my liquid and it was surprisingly easy and stupid cheap. And the coolest part is I was able to keep gradually cutting back on the nicotine until I quit completely. From what it seems like these disposables are loaded with nic and designed to keep you hooked. It seems counterintuitive considered vaping was mostly pushed as a way to quit cigarettes back in the day

I’ve been unemployed for 14 months and I don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. I left with plenty of savings and moved to a country where I spend less than $1000 a month but I’m running out soon. It’s kinda scary and I’ve contemplated some dark shit
