I haven’t used heroic, how good is the wine integration? Is it as seamless as proton? I want to know if I should wait for the steam sale or buy some games from gog instead.
- Comment on Switch 2 Teardown: Still Glued, Still Soldered, Still Drifting 1 week ago:
Did iwata ever say they were a bad idea? I thought it was that they had no idea how to make them secure but easy to remove, not because iwata said it was stupid.
- Comment on Switch 2 Teardown: Still Glued, Still Soldered, Still Drifting 1 week ago:
I think the reason the connectors are magnetic is because it is something nintendo’s designers always wanted to do. So once their engineers figured out how to do it (after the launch of the original switch) they designed the switch 2 around the magnetic connectors. I think it’s incredibly stupid when one of the most important things to do for a sequel to the switch is fixing the drift but it’s a reason at least I guess?
Here’s the video I watched about it: https://youtu.be/JDhj8s-i–s

He was a pioneer of the personal computer revolution of the 1970s and 1980s, along with his early business partner and fellow Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak.

I got banned from the ai generated mushroom community for saying that ai art isn’t real art (I wasn’t in that community it was under a post criticising ai)

It can but I think it’s only client side (for their buggy overlay). Not something bots can access
- Comment on Is there a way I can easily set up my own federated instance for free or no? 2 weeks ago:
Best way to run an instance for cheap is on your own hardware, but I would only do that if you are experienced with self hosting since it would require port forwarding (unsecure if done wrong)
- Comment on Jurassic World Evolution 3 | Announcement Trailer 3 weeks ago:
I guess that’s true. Maybe it’s just that the new content is aimed at people with more time than me? Or that I just want more?
- Comment on Jurassic World Evolution 3 | Announcement Trailer 3 weeks ago:
Is this made by fdev again? I know that elite dangerous isn’t the most profitable game but that game needs a lot more attention than a 3rd jurassic world game (although I played the first 2 games and I liked them)

That’s what happens when the executives don’t talk to the small amount of creative people they haven’t laid off yet…

Unless something new has happened, it’s because the switch 2 is expensive and the games are overpriced

- Comment on DOOM: The Dark Ages Has Reportedly Sold Less Than 1 Million Copies 4 weeks ago:
It’s £70 in the uk, that’s $95 while in the us it costs $70, which is £50. Xbox did the same thing with the new call of duty, their regional pricing is so braindead.

- Comment on Game media preservation, where? 4 weeks ago:
Not the most searchable since it’s main use is through it’s api (I use it through retrodeck/ES-DE which is for ROM libraries) but screenscraper.fr contains scans of boxart, title art, videos from the games, manuals that used to come with physical games and a lot more.
If you want retro ROMs, I can’t help you since I don’t know if I can link to those types of sites but ask on !piracy@lemmy.dbzer0.com and check their wiki linked at the top of the community.

- Comment on Common British L 5 weeks ago:
My favourite part of British food is the way it has merged with foreign food, like the curry dishes for example.
That does also mean there aren’t any British restaurants since they are usually labelled with the culture that shows there is actual flavour and not the culture famous for eating wartime food in the 21st century…

- Comment on Europa Universalis V: Official Announcement Trailer 1 month ago:
When I meant missing parts I meant stuff I would notice missing while playing the game with no dlc. This happens a lot in eu4 and almost never in ck3. Although I might try roads to power after hearing about it!
- Comment on Europa Universalis V: Official Announcement Trailer 1 month ago:
That’s fair. Although Laith said that Paradox is letting him say whatever he wants, if I got invited to help announce the sequel to one of my favourite games I would be a bit biased. With every video I watched I audibly said wow at least once. I did not expect that many features and depth from a paradox game at release! Makes me wonder what they have left out to sell in DLC. Also makes me worry about how much time developing those features took away from bug fixing…
