I just swipe left for “back” (android), and I can access everything just fine, it just closes the TOS. Just do the every time I open the app, works like a charm.

But then you don’t want face-melting lasers.
Now hold on…I can see that being useful too. Two consecutive failed face IDs? BAM!!!* face melting laser on the (probably) unauthorized person trying to access your phone.

Because the implication is, that Tesla isn’t doing something bad WRT his they designed the stalls? IDK, anything that’s not bashing Tesla directly seems to get down voted here, even if it’s not actually related specifically to Tesla.
- Comment on Tesla Owner Calls Police on Rivian Driver Using Supercharger 6 months ago:
It is objectively safer to park like that (charging or not). The risk of accidents when leaving the parking spot is significantly reduced compared to parking front first.
- Comment on Tesla Owner Calls Police on Rivian Driver Using Supercharger 6 months ago:
It was actually quite well planned out, opening up the network in stages to see that everything worked as intended before a wide rollout. You can even see in the app which chargers are open to other car brands. This mistake is 100% on the driver, the info is easily available to that person.

I wouldn’t bother using it for anything other than starters, stale oxidised malt won’t make good beer. Shit it, shit out.

You can buy off-flavour kits so you can learn to identify them in an isolated setup…they’re just not in jelly bean format.
- Comment on Is there much difference between Stellar and Star san? How's the StellarSan stuff so cheap? 7 months ago:
It’s probably just as good. When Starsan was (temporarily) banned in Europe some time ago, a tonne of different brands popped up with similar products, but much cheaper. They ball work similarly and I’ve used several of them without issues.
I’d save the money and buy something else than starsan, it’s ridiculously overpriced.

They absolutely don’t need to detect the country of their users. Simple popup asking, if you’re in an EU country, and then adapt according to the users answer.

Most races are not against time though… They’re against other competitors. How long it takes you is pretty irrelevant, as long as the others are slower.

Funny thing, most modern refrigerators use DC motors for their compressors so that they can run at variable speeds
No they don’t…they use AC motors and a VFD to control the speed.
- Comment on Can you un-smart a smart tv? 7 months ago:
They’re starting to put LTE modems in all cars
Because a lot of the market also wants to be able to monitor and control certain aspects of their car remotely, and this is only possible with remote internet connection. LTE is the cheapest and best way to get this. I know it’s unfortunately also used for data collection, but at least it provides some useful functionality for the user as well.
But TVs are pretty much always located near a network source, either wireless or wired. There’s not really a need to implement LTE, that they have to pay for, when they can just use the customers network. Since 99% will connect to the internet, the last 1% are not an interesting market share for them compared to what they would cost.
I kind of doubt LoRa is used for this application because the bitrate is super low. Transferring any meaningful amount of telemetry is not feasible.
- Comment on Can you un-smart a smart tv? 7 months ago:
If it’s not connected to a network, the data never leaves the TV though, and then the tracking doesn’t really matter.

Its breaking a shitload og stuff on Firefox right now…I can’t reliably use my home assistant interface with it enabled, and onshape won’t load CAD models, can’t use drop-down menus on a lot of sites.
I don’t know what the hell they did, but it’s breaking everything.

That’s absolutely insane…why is it not a requirement to have audits performed by a third party? This is laughably ridiculous, especially for an industry that claims to be focused on safety and quality.

Are these facilities not regularly audited by a 3rd party to maintain their ISO certifications? The stuff mentioned in the article (key card feeler gauge…WTF!?) would/should have been caught in any routine audit.

- Comment on Linear rail mod on Anycubic Kobra 2 8 months ago:
I thought your frame acts also like a rail for wheels.
There is a single extrusion, in the middle, running parallel to the Y axis below the bed, with rods on both sides that the bearings travel on. So it’s not affected by the squareness of the frame.
Likewise for the X axis, there is a single extrusion mounted between the two vertical extrusions, with rods on that the print head travels on, again this is not affected by squareness either.
Squareness of course comes in to play when the print head is positioned relative to the bed, but I actually have decent (and consistent) print quality.
- Comment on Linear rail mod on Anycubic Kobra 2 8 months ago:
Hmm, fair point. I was not aware that the “cheap” linear rails would be just as bad as the design currently used. That’s a bit disheartening since the current design leaves a lot to be desired and honestly isn’t very good/well implemented.
I was under the impression that the linear rails (I’ve been looking for ones in the $40/pcs range for 320mm length) were a better solution.
My frame is as straight as I can get it, but that doesn’t really affect the movement on X or Y axes independently, only how well the print head (X)moves in relation to the bed (Y). I have issues on the axes independently, which is not really affected by the squareness of the frame.
