No, someone else is doing something worse than me so I’m absolved. I can do what I want.
- Comment on Amazon Restricted Vaginal Health Products for Being ‘Potentially Embarrassing’ 2 days ago:
Not loving guns and murder? Unamerican communist!
Talking about a lady’s body parts or for that matter anything remotely related to sexuality? Jesus Christ won’t someone please save our children from this fate worse than death!?
- Comment on Trump says Mexico, Canada tariffs will start March 4, plus additional 10% on China 3 days ago:
I don’t understand, if tariffs are so great, why not make it 100%? 500%?
- Comment on The System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster pages are on GOG & Steam 4 days ago:
One of my all time favorites. This looks like a real remaster rather than SS1’s remake. Either way looking forward to revisiting the Von Braun and the Rickenbacker.
- Comment on Bombshell report reveals staggering amount of government funds paid to Elon Musk 4 days ago:
I’m so shocked I can’t even tell you how much. Elon Musk? Grifting money from the government? I just don’t believe it.
- Comment on The Lemmy Liberal 1 week ago:
- Like telling people they can’t be the sexuality they choose or that they can’t control their own uterus.
- Like when people tell you there’s scientific proof for the above
- Like when a guy in dress reads a picture book to some kids
- Like how invading the capitol is patriotic but kneeling during the national anthem is treason
- Comment on Ukraine: Zelenskyy offers to quit in return for NATO entry 1 week ago:
Really clever move. Take the wind out of old Trumptator’s sails
- Comment on JD Vance to Young Men: Don't Let Them Turn You Into 'Androgynous Idiots' 1 week ago:
If giving some small amount of space to people who are different to you is offensive, you’re the one with them problem. Not them.
- Comment on Jon Stewart says the media cried wolf with its 'fascist' attacks on Trump 1 week ago:
I think the main problem with shouting fascist is not that it’s wrong but that it’s ineffective. You have to address what he’s actually doing wrong and how you would do better. Of course it’s a big problem that he’s incredibly good at spreading disinformation and the Democrats are almost completely media illiterate these days.

If she’s 17 now she hasn’t aged a bit in the last 7 years, impressive. (picture from another thread)
- Comment on Nintendo patent explains Switch 2 Joy-Cons’ “mouse operation” mode 3 weeks ago:
Any word yet on what the joystick tech will be? Mouse operation is all very interesting but drift is my main concern for the new joycons.
- Comment on He Did It: Trump Calls for Ending the Federal Income Tax! 4 weeks ago:
About damn time. And since there’ll be no money, just get rid of the FBI, CIA and the army. Who needs any of that? States can just raise their own local armies so they can finally have a real scrap.
- Comment on Base-building survival game Necesse gets a big update and Free Weekend 5 weeks ago:
Well it’s a cute game but I’d hardly call it impressive. Let’s see what the update brings but it was pretty bare-bones in the past, especially if you compare it to actually impressive indies in the space like Core Keeper.
- Comment on I believe him on a factual level, but not on an emotional level. 1 month ago:
If it was designed as a logistics network between France and the NL it would have a decent road system
- Comment on An emerging Texas megadonor just pledged $20 million to “expand a true Republican majority” 2 months ago:
Can we still call the GOP conservative at this point? Trump is just putting random billionaires in charge and advocating for an unlimited debt ceiling to throw more good money after bad. What happened to fiscal responsibility? Last time he was president he raised the national debt more than any other president since Reagan just for more tax breaks for the wealthy. How is any of this still “conservative”?
- Comment on Bernie Sanders & Trump Against Credit Card Interest (Usury) 3 months ago:
You can downvote this for having “Trump” in the title but we should take our victories where we can. If Bernie can get Trump to support this cap then that’s a win for all of us.
- Comment on Microsoft fires employees who organized vigil for Palestinians killed in Gaza 3 months ago:
I mean yeah absolutely protest your bosses unethical behavior but don’t be surprised if they then kick you out. But that’s good, more media coverage for your stated goal.
- Comment on The Video Game History Foundation is “not done fighting” after US Copyright Office refuses exemption to aid preservation 4 months ago:
Don’t worry, we’re going to preserve these games anyway. Copyright means absolutely nothing in the digital age.
- Comment on A decline in arable land 4 months ago:
Also overly intensive farming, especially cattle farming, is destroying the little bit of nature we have.

- Comment on 3D printed 'suicide pod' used by a human for the first time 5 months ago:
The register is a tech magazine, so the DIY/3D printed angle is relevant here. It’s also relevant because it would, at least to some degree, someone to build it themselves in places where perhaps the legality of self determination is questionable. The Register is not a place where you’ll normally find unnecessary clickbait headlines.
- Comment on “Model collapse” threatens to kill progress on generative AIs 5 months ago:
So it’s not a problem with AI. It’s just a problem for some mayfly companies that try to profit from the latest trend?
- Comment on Is linux actually gaming ready or is it just not for me? 5 months ago:
Shutup still works but I wouldn’t trust it to prevent all telemetry. I wouldn’t trust Microsoft not to have other telemetry that’s not part of their services that can be turned off.
- Comment on Is linux actually gaming ready or is it just not for me? 5 months ago:
Unlikely. It won’t run optimally but it shouldn’t be the cause of crashes or bugs. If you’re not sure you can run a ram test (memtest.org)
- Comment on "Ranma ½" (Remake) New Key Visual, PV 7 months ago:
They did a surprisingly good job with Urusei Yatsura, will be fun to see this one.
- Comment on Welp ... 7 months ago:
Same. I keep hearing folks mention this but it’s not like AI developers aren’t aware of this (apart from a bunch of shitty startups that would fail no matter what) One way to deal with it for example is Microsoft is shelling out so much for “pre-AI” datasets (Reddit) but I’m sure there’s a lot more of those kinds of initiatives.
Google on the other hand is going to be hard pressed to deal with the ever increasing deluge of AI spam.

Some company decided to change their logo because it looks dated and might give the wrong impression. How is this even an issue?

So just air gap those systems. No need to have every critical system online 24/7 right,?
