I’ve been using it since YouTube stopped allowing adblockers.

I mean high end artists not indie

Doesn’t make me feel guilty using Soulseek. Artists get next to nothing but I’m refusing to give any money to Spotify. If there was a better way to buy and own music digitally from popular artists I would

Didn’t Pearl Jam boycott Ticketmaster back in 1994 for similar things?

I still use FreeTube for desktop and no ads here :)

If I had an android phone I would prob use Linux without a doubt. But having the iPhone and Mac ecosystem integration is important. At least I know Apple will won’t force updates on my computer and makes updates that makes sense. Tired of Microsoft throwing shit at the wall in terms of user experience

This is why I switched over to Mac back in 2022. I knew that I didn’t want to move forward with Windows but had to get a new computer anyways. I already have an iPhone and a Mac Mini M1 was only $700. Thanks Microsoft for forcing a Windows user of 30 years away from your OS.
- Comment on ...So I Finally Quit Spotify 10 months ago:
Spotify pays a fraction of a penny per play to artists. Who’s really the one stealing?
- Comment on ...So I Finally Quit Spotify 10 months ago:
I just quit Spotify too and went back to mp3s I’ve downloaded with Limewire. I got sick of playlists, messy UI, etc. I also got tired of people talking about their top music of the year. I honestly don’t care what you listened to the most.
I also am not guilty not giving artists the .0003 per play every time I play a son. Less guilty than the $1 per song in the 2010s or $20 per album in the 2000s…

for your Desktop download FreeTube. A private YouTube client that’s also ad free :)

I was annoyed by this. Check out FREETUBE which is a private youtube client for pc, mac and linux. No ads and 100% private - take that google
- Comment on You can no longer activate new Windows 11 builds with Windows 7 or 8 keys; maybe last chance to activate using Windows 7 or 8 keys, for 22H2. 1 year ago:
And you wonder why I switched to Mac last year when Win 11 was launched. I’d rather give $700 to Apple for a Mac Mini than spend $600 rebuilding my PC for an OS I don’t want

I’ve been telling people for years that the entire 21st century is at risk of being a lost century. Even personally I can’t guarantee my data will be with me 20 years from now even though I back it up. If you care about a photo or document, print it and throw it it a box.
- Comment on Zoom has “Zoom fatigue,” requires workers to return to the office 1 year ago:
That’s not insane it’s how people have worked since the birth of the modern office over 109 years. To think an extreme circumstance such as COVID was going to force all of these big companies to be remote forever is insane. The power would eventually go back to employers. And unfortunately not enough workers across all industries unionized so the employee power is gone again. I’m lucky I get 3 days in office and 2 days at home. Honestly I’ll take that over 5 days in office like pre-Covid
- Comment on The famously overworked visual effects workers behind the Marvel movies just voted to join a union 1 year ago:
Surprised this didn’t happen before but VFX houses are overworked and under paid. It’s only a matter of time they’ll be replaced by a farm of AI computers in the studio

Not surprised by this. I worry about the next Recession and more on the recovery part. How do you add more jobs when there’s less human roles available?

- Comment on Zoom has “Zoom fatigue,” requires workers to return to the office 1 year ago:
Most companies were going to at least return to a hybrid model. To think all companies would be 100% remote work is insane

- Comment on [Wired] This Disinformation Is Just for You; Generative AI Makes Disinformation More Targeted and Effective 1 year ago:
Honestly human generated misinformation (Trump and far right media for example) are the only ones that will be victims of AI generated misinformation. If you’re sending photos and stories for people that don’t fact check it’s easy to convince them anything.
