This is why I use Start11
- Comment on Roku has patented a way to show ads over anything you plug into your TV 7 months ago:
Man, am I happy that I stopped using my Roku and switched to an Nvidia Shield TV. I’m also happy that I have a “dumb TV”!
- Comment on Using StartAllBack? No Windows updates for you, says Microsoft 7 months ago:
I tried the Official Windows 11 start menu. I had disabled showing “recommended apps” I’m the settings. This hid the icons, but not the section. So, whenever I opened the start menu, the entire bottom half was a section that said “enable recommended apps to show them here.”
That’s when I installed Start11 (I also bought StartAllBack, but I preferred Start11) and never looked back.

- Comment on Amazon Prime Video will start showing ads on January 29th unless you pay extra for ad-free 10 months ago:
Other than Good Omens, and Grand Tour I guess, what’s even on Prime Video that’s not elsewhere?
- Comment on YouTube can't stop showing me AI deepfake ads 10 months ago:
You’re assuming they care about the content of the ads. If they’re getting paid, they run the ad, that’s it.
- Comment on YouTube can't stop showing me AI deepfake ads 10 months ago:
This doesn’t work for most streaming services. The ads and the actual video come from the same server. I know this is the case on Hulu (probably YouTube, too).
- Comment on Threads is officially starting to test ActivityPub integration 11 months ago:
I honestly forgot Threads even existed.
- Comment on Wi-Fi 7 to get the final seal of approval early next year, new standard is up to 4.8 times faster than Wi-Fi 6 11 months ago:
I just upgraded to a WiFi 6E router. Both my phone and my laptop support 6E.
Speeds are great, until you leave the living room (where the router is). Go up to my bedroom, and 6E won’t even connect. So it’s fast, but 6Hz has trouble going through walls.
Most of the other devices in the house are in 5GHz and that’s still super fast and able to reach basically everywhere.

Another vote for Podcast Addict. It works with Android Auto in my car :-)
Now to listen to all these shows I have downloaded…

Yes, but most people have actually heard of Facebook.

Threads still exists? People still use Threads?

The Kindergarten in Steven Universe is a reference to Junji Ito.
Steven Universe is just what is more fresh in my mind.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought of Steven Universe first.
