My 50 year old Kenwood mixer stays on the counter for one reason only and that’s because it’s too goddamn heavy to be lifting back and forth. Also I sometimes get inspired to bake just from seeing it on the counter, which is a nice plus.

I prefer carbon steel cubes myself but cast iron is nice too.

And those have taken over all the damn tv remotes. I designed and 3D printed a replacement faceplate for my Samsung tv’s remote that hides them, out of retaliation (they were in a spot where I accidentally hit the netflix button when trying to pause what I was watching, which was annoying af).

Someone actually uses those?

I thought MacOS barely does any legacy support because apple isn’t afraid to cut support for old stuff unlike Microsoft.

Not to speak of the battery life that hasn’t improved at all.

I started on home assistant with just a couple Smart bulbs and oh boy has it gotten out of hand since then lol. Home bridge sounds good if that’s all that’s needed though.

Well if you print lots of photos then maybe but that’s about it.

Inkjet printers as a whole are a bad investment.

Ok so that’s all you can give, a dislike? Come on bring on the counter arguments.
- Comment on What's your favorite game that you will NEVER finish? 10 months ago:
Gta V will probably only be truly “finished” for me when gta 6 comes out (assuming that it’s going to be as good of a game). 10 years later I still keep finding new stuff in it. I really hope 6 can live up to it.

You were the one dissing GTA and I’m sorry, but gta is so far a head of saints row that it’s not even remotely close. I’ve only ever finished the story of one gta game, because I didn’t like it in the other games, but I still spent a ton of time in all of them despite that, because the world is so immersive and there’s so much to do in there.
The stories in saints rows feel like they just put all the ideas in the game and give no thought if it fits the game at all. I have adhd and they still always manage to overwhelm me with so much senseless crap going on at all times. You just end up zoning out and not focusing on the story at all. I’ve never managed to play any saints row for longer than a few hours because of that. Meanwhile I’ve spent many times more than that in all gta games, outside the story, just exploring and messing around. You can easily spend more time just messing around in GTA than it would take to finish a story in saints row.
I like to play games where you can spend time doing stuff between the story missions, instead of just running from one mission to another. That really gets you immersed and makes it an unforgettable experience. I’ve played over 400 hours of gta v and every time I open the game, I still keep finding new stuff I haven’t seen previously in that game. Saints row doesn’t come even close to achieving that.
Saying that saints row is the game gta wants to be, implies that gta wants to be some cheap brainless entertainment that you forget in a day after playing it, which isn’t true. They have ambitions beyond that and it clearly shows in their product.
- Comment on Tesla is banned from driving schools because of new turn signals 10 months ago:
They say it’s beta but beta would imply that it’s at least somewhat close to ready, which it clearly isn’t even after being in “beta” for a long ass time.

So this basically means that drink bmw drivers still drive safer than tesla drivers
- Comment on China announced new laws to limit microtransactions, affecting major corporations like Tencent. 10 months ago:
Predatory as in they literally employ psychologists to help design them to be as addictive as they can be, then they market it towards kids or at the very least don’t really do anything to prevent kids from gambling in them (yeah it’s also partially a parenting issue but can’t really expect all parents to be tech savvy enough to understand all everything about gaming).
Then there’s the other sucky, but just not sucky enough for it to be an illegal side of things: games that these mechanics suck ass and we are getting less and less objectively good games because more and more games seek to make some quick buck by making their games casinos of sorts.
It’s only as luxurious as being addicted to cocaine in hopes that the next line will hit like the first one, or in game terms, hoping that the next loot box gets you the skin/character/whatever you wanted and releases that quick dopamine rush. Rinse and repeat.

I guess it makes sense that google lost here, but what doesn’t seem to make sense at all, at least for me, is how on earth apple won when on their platform you literally have no other option than to use apples stuff.

- Comment on Grand Theft Auto VI Trailer 1 11 months ago:
Rockstar has a great track record of their trailers being very close to the final game. Just look at any of their trailers and the final game. There’s not really any reason to believe it will be different this time.
- Comment on Grand Theft Auto VI Trailer 1 11 months ago:
Rockstar has a pretty good track record on their trailers being very close to what the actual game is.
- Comment on Grand Theft Auto VI Trailer 1 11 months ago:
Gta online was fun at first, when it was all about fooling around in the awesome big map with friends, but after that got old, there’s nothing else to do but grind boring missions that all feel the same.
- Comment on Grand Theft Auto VI Trailer 1 11 months ago:
I’m really excited for the single player. I have absolutely zero optimism for online though.

All that dust is going to do, is to block airflow at worst. If you take proper care of it, it’ll be fine.

Not necessarily. I mean, it’s fully built in the picture and definitely doesn’t look like spaghetti. If you cable manage the peripheral cables well I think it’ll still look nice.

Yeah initially it felt really cool, but got old really fast. It just felt like doing the same thing over and over again.
- Comment on Vodafone Finds Brits Keep Mobile Phones for 4 Years Instead of 2 1 year ago:
Everything else is pretty much perfected at this point, but batteries and tiny cameras are hard to perfect. Still have to wait more than two years to see any meaningful improvements in either of those.
- Comment on Vodafone Finds Brits Keep Mobile Phones for 4 Years Instead of 2 1 year ago:
Only just replaced my close to 4 years old OnePlus 7 Pro, because it just bricked out of the blue. Would have happily used it for a couple more years. Practically the only improvements on my Pixel 7 Pro, compared to the OnePlus, are battery life and the cameras (especially since I was running Pixel experience on it anyways).
