Well, shit. I pulled out my laptop to grab the scripts and it looks like the extension was updated and it wiped them out. I didn’t have them backed up anywhere else, so I guess their gone unless I find myself back on the apps again (please, god, no…).

OkCupid was amazing 15 years ago, but it’s pretty shit now. For what OP is looking for, it’s probably still the best option, but it’s a very low bar.
OP, if you want to check out OkCupid, message me. I can set you up with a couple of browser scripts I wrote to improve the website experience. One will show you your matches’ photos. You won’t be able to view their profiles, but people that like you will generally show up in the profiles you’re shown pretty quickly, so it’s easy to find them. The other will need to be slightly tailored to you if you want to use it, but it will automatically skip any profiles that are showing to you that don’t meet your minimum requirements, and even alert you if one of them liked you instead of just skipping it, just in case you’d like to give it a closer look before you make a final decision.

Agreed. I really wish more multiplayer games would put in bot options. I am firmly an anti-PVP player, but I would play the hell out of some of the big PVP games if they gave me a pure PVE option.

To be fair to MS, they bought that with Rare a long time ago, and they have put out a perfect dark game since then.

Thanks for the correction. I was also looking forward to Perfect Dark. Been a big fan since the original on N64, hence the username.

Fuckers buying up studios and then shutting them down. I knew this was going to happen.

- Comment on What do you have to wake up to to be considered a heavy/light/normal sleeper? 3 weeks ago:
Mirroring what others have said, often even heavy sleepers have sounds there sensitive to that wake them up immediately. I had someone crash on my couch one night. I knew they had to be up in the morning for work, so I set an alarm for myself to make sure they got up too (this is right around when smartphones were starting to become a thing, and it wasn’t really common to have alarms set on your phone, hence why I was going through the extra effort for them). I woke up and went over to try and wake them up. First it was a soft nudge in the shoulder, then a harder one, then a shake, then grabbing them by both shoulders and aggressively shaking them. I literally stopped to check their breathing and make sure they hadn’t died on me. My roommate came out during this and was also laughing and wondering if they had died. I really had to use the restroom, so said I was going to do that and then come back and give it another go. While I’m in there, I hear their phone go off and my roommate starts laughing hysterically. Apparently as soon as the tone went off on their phone, they sat upright, wide awake.
- Comment on Borderlands 4 Price Has Been Confirmed 3 weeks ago:
To be fair, The Pre-Sequel was made by different studio entirely, but I agree that the Borderlands 3 story was utter crap. It was so bad that I couldn’t bear to keep playing, despite how I felt about the gameplay (which I honestly don’t remember at this point).
- Comment on Prince of Persia remake apparently still on track for 2026, per Ubisoft 3 weeks ago:
It wouldn’t have gotten so much hate at release if it was a remaster, but it was a remake that looked like a remaster, which is not acceptable when you’re talking about a 20-year gap. They made the right move, which is what’s so surprising to me.

My advice: Practice going over other people’s code with a fine-tooth comb looking for bad architecture, flaws and inefficiencies.
I agree. Funny story, I wasn’t allowed to do code reviews at my current job for about 2 years because they thought my comb was too fine. Suddenly software quality is something they are really valuing and they’re allowing me to do code reviews again. Funny, that.

Seconding Dying Light and Borderlands 2. Excellent games! If you’re open to 3rd person, Helldivers 2 and The Division 2. No idea about DRM, though.

I didn’t realize that Netflix actually bought the studio. I just thought they licensed the game or something.

Ghost of Tsushima felt the same to me. Great characters and a beautiful world, but the gameplay felt bland. I was happy to finally get to the end because I didn’t have to play anymore.

This update will also include a beta version of a new feature that many fans have been asking for – support for cloud streaming on PS Portal. When the update is live, PlayStation Plus Premium members will be able to participate in a beta for cloud streaming on PS Portal, allowing select PS5 games in the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog* to be streamed directly from our servers, even without a PS5 console.
- Comment on In rare move from printing industry, HP actually has a decent idea 9 months ago:
It uses AI to rearrange and resize content when you are printing from the internet. The example is pretty compelling, but doesn’t make up for everything else HP does.
