I’m so tired of game naming trends. Let’s not make any mention of the sequel being a sequel and name the third game number two!

  It seemed more like “we own this name and it’s pretty edgy and marketable” to me. The first one existing (and being complete and utter shit) probably didn’t matter to anyone on the publishing side.

    I tried to get into it a few times but when you’ve played a couple thousand of hours of the Souls series, it came off a cheap imitation.
    
    I bounced off the new one right away. It sounded fun on paper but the big lantern mechanic was over sold and not fun.
