You can’t conflate one thing, by definition it requires more than one. That’s embarrassing.

Even in petrol cars automatic transmissions are more common than manual for new cars now. Automatic has just become better and better, and there’s just very little reason to have one these days.

I refer back to my original comment then, who the fuck wants to do that?
You get to be a full time interviewer, with any bad decisions you make fucking up the planet. The ulterior motives may not exist initially but you can be sure that someone will convince your A-team there are “better” ways to do things.
No thank you, give me 7 extra hours per day to enjoy myself with only 1 hour needed to sleep.

Identifying qualified trustworthy people may not be a simple task, everyone has an ulterior motive.

In a thread about a word being ingrained in our culture, where’s the joke in claiming another word is also ingrained in our culture?

Yes new generations will continually be created and older generations will always sneer at them.

I’ll be honest, I haven’t heard anyone say that ever when using a phone.
Maybe “videos” as a verb but generally “records” in my experience

I will never install Linux because I’ll never trust that it’ll be easier to use than windows, and that’s all I want.
I can’t count the number of people that have told me I should be on Linux and that if I use Mint it’ll be a piece of perfect cake, despite me also seeing comments like this on a pretty regular basis.
Why is it that so much of the community REFUSES to acknowledge any shortcomings? Almost like it’s their child and you’re personally attacking their parenting by suggesting its not flawlessly simple.

There are some great paid mobile games too though.
I’ve played nothing on my phone but bloons td6 for a year or so now, cost £6 and I’m nowhere close to maximising the content available.
Then you have shorter (but brilliant) games like the room series, monument valley, machinarium.
Not all are F2P microtransaction excuses with an ad every 30seconds. But I totally sympathise with the frustration and don’t play F2P mobile any more either.

You can excite water to the extent that it starts changing it’s state of matter by employing a method of electricity generation which makes use of the subject we are trying to excite and subsequently powering a device which does the aforementioned excitement of water!

Not exactly a minor indie game by any means, but bloons td6 is the game I’ve player the most on mobile by some distance. It’s £6 with no microtransactions and a shit load of content. If you like TD games this is a home run.

- Comment on Could we use AI to update 4:3 media to 16:9? 1 year ago:
The best quality IS the quality the filmmaker wanted when it was created.
People buy CRT TVs even now btw, the absence of input lag makes it ideal for competitive smash bros.
Most people are perfectly happy watching an old film/show on a new screen because it can near as dammit replicate exactly what the director wanted us to see. Adding actual stuff to the framing of shots is a nuts idea and it absolutely changes the quality.
To give an example, having someone’s face fill the screen versus being centred with more background visible around it changes the feel of the shot a LOT. 12 angry men is a good example here because the camera gets almost imperceptibly closer to the person speaking throughout the film to ramp up tension and draw the viewer into the story. It creates a feeling of claustrophobia that would be dulled if you added content to the edges of the screen.
- Comment on Could we use AI to update 4:3 media to 16:9? 1 year ago:
Exactly, the filmmaker knew exactly what the aspect ratio was and framed shots specifically for it, why would anyone ever want this…?

Smashed it JK.
I think she’s since tried to walk that back by saying he left to protect them and was eventually murdered by death eaters.
Maybe put that bit in the book eh?

Not storming but I’ve never had a problem either. Here’s the screen I get when I open a playlist, can toggle between shuffle, smart shuffle and normal to the left of the play button.
Does yours look different?
- Comment on What games have you been playing recently 1 year ago:
My graphics card isn’t horrible actually to be fair. I’ve got an RTX 2070 but it’s on a 10 year old AM3 motherboard with DDR3 in it so it’s time to replace cpu/mobo/ram.
At the moment it’s not playable for me, I forced myself to play the first few hours but speech visual lags behind the audio and I’m stuck waiting for 10seconds with every sentence. I know loading screens aren’t great for anyone but a solid minute for each screen wasn’t doable either.
