- Comment on Microsoft CEO earns $30.6 million more despite laying off over 2,000 employees in 2024 — salary package represents a 63% raise from the previous year 3 weeks ago:
$30.6m/2000 is $15.3k per employee laid off, basically a full time minimum wage job. Fucking unreal that you can justify one person getting a raise that could support 2000 people’s entire livelihood. Obviously, these Microsoft employees were not earning minimum wage, but its still outrageous.

Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid was pretty cozy, and features primarily adult characters.

Eh I can sort of understand it in this case - many people are used to thinking of things in amounts of kilowatt hours.
If your journey was 1200 kilometres people might look at you strangely for saying 1.2 megametres
- Comment on Thousands of counter-protesters take to UK streets as far-right unrest fails to materialise 3 months ago:
Oh sure, I can absolutely see how they’d avoid getting the same punishments as the JSO folks. Don’t worry I don’t think you’re a Nazi for looking at the realistic scenario of whether they get the same punishments.
- Comment on Thousands of counter-protesters take to UK streets as far-right unrest fails to materialise 3 months ago:
From BBC’s live coverage:
A group of anti-immigration protesters blocked a major road in Portsmouth.
Up to 200 protesters, some holding union flags and chanting “save our kids”, repeatedly blocked Mile End Road, just outside the city’s ferry port.
It is one of the main roads in and out of the city.
Police keep clearing them from the road but they keep running back in, blocking the carriageway in both directions.
They gathered first outside Norman House near the ferry port, a building that is used by the immigration service.
The protesters have now moved towards Portsmouth city centre.
Seems like its pretty intentional
- Comment on Thousands of counter-protesters take to UK streets as far-right unrest fails to materialise 3 months ago:
I can only hope that the right wing protesters that were blocking a main road will face the same heavy punishment that was doled out to Just Stop Oil for the same thing. If they’re gonna jail climate protesters for it, they better damn well jail the fashs for it.

You’ll note I never made any judgement on their preference :)
- Comment on why not 3 months ago:
Well the people who aren’t Toes in this thread all enjoy more garlic than recipes suggest. So they have a different preference of flavour to Toes. Unless that’s what you were trying to imply?
- Comment on why not 3 months ago:
People having different preferred flavour profiles is a wild concept to you?
