Just read a review on Amazon today about a newer brother printer that they’ve instituted a lock out on toner. Was telling a colleague that they were decent enough to not do that… But then I ate my words

I never knew Microsoft even had support. Was part of a very large (worldwide) enterprise and remember the other teams complaining about lack of anything when trying to escalate issues.

I remember surge strips that had infrared sensors to see if there was someone at the desk. Easy way to power off the old CRT monitors and save energy if away.

I work healthcare adjacent and some providers were affected as expected. Hoping as well that those critical systems were not, but that chance is non zero.

There’s no technical reason for 320 CBR but the space loss from a VBR ~224 encode to the CBR 320 is minimal compared to 320 vs flac around 1000. I do keep two copies of my collection for space reasons though - one in flac and one at 320. My phone is still a limiting factor to from a space perspective, I can’t store my entire collection on it in flac but I do choose to use it where I’m actively listening to an album through the weeks. The rest can be mp3 because it’s usually a single song that gets in my head.

There’s still some use cases for sure. My 4 gig Garmin running watch (2.5 usable) might play flac but I want more than a few albums on it.

Agreed, but it’s been working now for longer than I originally expected. I wonder if some part of their choice base totally relies on that being available…

I’m confident that mail and sms show up as the notification icon, but they’re bundled so they all look like one “notification” on the watch face. Not sure on the calendar side - I specifically block a bunch of app pushes to my watch because my phone is mostly a distraction when I work, so I don’t like my watch buzzing for every little thing.
I do get high/low temp on the face, which is very handy. Plus it’s always on (LCD, not OLED) - not as pretty as some, but 5 plus day battery life.

I’m lost - what is a complication? From my initial Google, it does seem like my Garmin can add additional things to the face but I’m still kind of unclear as to what a complication is. For reference I have heart rate, step count, mileage, body battery and weather on my vivoactive3 face.
