A boring dystopia.
- Comment on Anyone else notice the fediverse is quite close knit? 3 months ago:
I don’t know about that. I feel like being a big fish in a small pond puts the spotlight on you more, leading to caring a lot more about whether or not your contributions are received well. And when you don’t follow the zeitgeist of the small community lock-step, that can cause lots of anxiety and lead to more mental health problems.

Yes, keyword affected members… other members weren’t affected. They didn’t need the whole union vote.

There was literally just one effort to create Hologram Tupac, and it was obvious that it was CG. This is much better.

I disagree. It’s actually pretty good. Hopefully some people will be outraged enough to actually listen to it.
- Comment on SAG-AFTRA Approves AI Voice Actors, Enrages the VA Community 4 months ago:
When it says “SAG-AFTRA Approves” - doesn’t that imply that all union members were given a vote?

Right? Sharpening focus and working together have zero to do with how many people you employ.
This was about profits. It’s always about profits.

Israel’s social media propaganda campaign has been super well-funded and is geared to really make people think that Hamas are the only bad guys here.
Just last night I was watching youtube with my kids and there was a commercial that showed horrible stuff in support of Israel.

DeSantis has not condemned the nauseating displays of hate — continuing a yearslong pattern of conspicuous silence. Critics, including the head of the Florida Democratic Party, insist that DeSantis’ unwillingness to decry such neo-Nazi actions is making him “complicit” in the state’s rising tide of hate. As the GOP governor has fashioned Florida into the place where “woke goes to die,” they insist, DeSantis is fostering an environment where hate comes to thrive.

Visual Effects checking in.
Although I hope it doesn’t go the way the rest of the entertainment industry has, where the company colludes with the union leadership and negotiates essentially a freelance gig style of work, where you are just a day-hire and can be dropped off the schedule at a moment’s notice, and have no healthcare coverage or retirement.
