Matthew and John were written by eyewitnesses.

The Old Testament is a bunch of books, letters, poems, historical and legal documents. That when read tell the story of the Jews and their relationship with God and the world over a couple of thousand years. They reflect the culture in which they were written. Many of the documents were written during wars where the writer is convinced God is on their side. There are many prophesies especially in Isaiah which point to Jesus. So when Jesus arrives and fulfills the prophesies some of the Jews follow Jesus but many powerful leaders are awaiting a different, more normal king figure and they are comfortable as they are so choose not to follow. The New Testament is written in a time of relative stability during the longtime invasion by the romans. The writers of those letters and books, some of whom are eyewitnesses to the life of Jesus. (Almost unique in historical documents) take a different stance to who God is. But they don’t all agree. Basically Bible means library.
- Comment on what advice can you give me to try and mend a broken friendship so we don't interrupt each other or yell at each other while trying to solve our issues? 1 week ago:
Yes good advice here. I find the simplest thing to say and the hardest thing to do at the time is to notice when I am taking things personally and then just stop that. Nothing the other person is saying is actually about me and all about them. Of course if something they are saying is fair or useful then I can use that later to see why it hurts and what that might be pointing to. Another great book is the four agreements.
- Comment on What happens if a world leader gets assassinated during a foreign visit by a *former* citizen of that leader's country? (Like: international relations wise) 1 week ago:
That also is definitely a possibility.

It would be a gift to whatever country was hosting the shooter. They could disown them completely. Russia in this case would blame the hosting country for not being good enough security wise and there would be a flaming hot discussion. Possibly some level of conflict and then it would die down.

I’d have guessed more would have been found in southern Italy.

I’d start with her. Wants to come here and then take the ladder up for anyone else.
- Comment on Britain is Losing its Free Speech, and America Could be Next 1 month ago:
There’s a balance to be achieved here. Free speech vs accountability. I can say what I want, but if I say a bunch of lies I should be called on it. We have to fight misinformation but it’s way more energy intensive to fight it than to provide it. So how can we achieve a good balance? I don’t think banning Palestinian groups is a good idea. I think regulation of the press might help so they can’t publish nonsense.

No they hang around the gate like vultures with credit card machines. At that point there’s nothing you can do except pay. This explains all the dickwaddery that’s been going on in the last few years. We call them ThievyJet.
