Depends on the type of dev you’re doing.
Homebrew. Through homebrew: vscode,iterm2, Firefox, virtual box and/or vmware fusion, colima + docker, vagrant, pyenv, jenv, direnv, nodenv, bash, zsh + oh-my-zsh +powerlevel10k, tmux+byobu, coreutils
I’m sure I’m missing a bunch

The same can be said of lemmy, mastodon or any publically accessible forum
- Comment on Bluesky says it won’t train AI on your posts 5 days ago:
With bluesky ,the sign up has a section where you choose a server. The bluesky server is prefilled. Otherwise you add your own.
But not having that default option and instead having to have the user go research and figure out which server to use is an immediate turn off.

“Can I scan your badge?”
…quietly walk away backwards, staring them dead in the eye

I’ve never seen an illuminated logo from manufacturers other than those I’ve listed. Large, sure. Though some like Kia or Hyundai I haven’t seen get huge. Honda, maybe?

“African American culture is the antithesis to your argument. Even the most wealthy individuals sporting logos of all kinds, literally as status symbols.”
Really you’re describing the difference between striking it rich and generational wealth.

I find the same to be true when people buy cars with illuminated insignia in the grill. Mercedes Benz, Volkswagen, for example.

That’s how I remember it as well. It was a frustrating mess of dead sites or sites that looked like they were created in 1993 and loaded with the speed of a BBS coming through a 1200 baud modern

As someone living in Wisconsin with salty road winters, I’ll say that Nissan’s reputation is mostly trash here based specifically on their paint
- Comment on ISP to Supreme Court: We shouldn’t have to disconnect users accused of piracy 2 months ago:
I’ve had VPNs email me that they’ll terminate my account if they find me pirating again after getting notified of DMCA. That was a few years ago by the same VPN I’m still with and have been pirating ever since. I haven’t gotten any more emails so either I didn’t get caught again or they’re just not notifying me any more.
I didn’t want to lose the VPN though since it gives me a long term IP and allows incoming port for torrenting

Your chances of this is about the same as the VPN provider being compromised of not lower.
Have you ever heard of anyone at all front in trouble for using usenet due to the provider being compromised?
Hell, most providers have a European endpoint. Just use that if that paranoid.
