This is not a forgone conclusion. Depends on the pizza base. A good pizza base has a tasty crust that I’ll devour, conversely a bad pizza base has a terrible crust and I very likely not finish the pizza and leave all the crust.

Oh my g.o.d! Do you think a swordsman main weapon was a bazooka? I’m not an expert on Japan, but in Europe the side arm was a dagger, which was very commonly used alongside with certain types of swords such as rapiers. Arches did not carry swords at all, though they could have had knives. A sword was a nobleman’s weapon and a peasant would forfeit their life if in possession of one (archers included). The same applied I Japan.
- Comment on Australian public school funding falls behind private schools as states fail to meet targets 1 year ago:
There are national education standards, so yes, take the state government decisions out of the equation. Say: “provide $x per student, we’ll contribute $y per student.” we don’t need states (or federal govt) increasing contributions to private schools while decreasing it for public schools. I understand that being in opposition you have to contradict just about anything the government says. I also understand that being in government you have to think of not alienating the swing voters. Yes, doing the right thing is not in the nature of governments.
Solution is simple if you’re not the government or the opposition. Gradually phase out funding to independent schools, while you set up new ones.
What we need is equal opportunity for every kid. Private schools are the antithesis of that. If your family can afford it, you’re getting a leg up, if they can’t, well, here’s some bootstraps.
Sorry about honing on the catholic schools. You’ve mentioned them and my partner still has PTSD from her catholic education. I also see no need for religious school funding, especially those run by the biggest child molestation organisation on the planet.

I’ll just leave you with some numbers. Here are school numbers (government, catholic, independent…). Please note the vast difference in number of government schools VS the rest. shorturl.at/tEPT6 (acara.edu.au)
Here is how much funding the education department provides this year: 10.6B for 6600 public schools and 16.4B for ~3000 of the rest. shorturl.at/bFH89 (education.gov.au)
All we need to do is fund public schools. Given the fact that Australia has a secular government and the catholic church pays no taxes, while still receiving taxpayer funded handouts it’s only fair.

The rich people’s kids are entitled to public education.
If you make education system based on class you’re going to deepen the social divide. This is already happening. People in power will advocate for private schools because that is where their kids go.

There is a public school system available to everyone. If people want to send their kids to private schools, they have every right to, but should be prepared to cover 100% of the expenses without any aid from the government.

The only judeo-christian religion I know about are Jews for Jesus.
Pogroms on Jewish people were perpetrated by christians. Where were the judeo-christian values then?

So let me get this straight. Musk bought Twitter for 44 billion, fired most of the staff, destroyed bunch of features and functionality, scared advertisers away and now changed the brand’s name. Wouldn’t it be less hassle to just start a platform and pay people $100 each as a sign up bonus?

I’m finding that those searches will be advertisement for a vet clinic, hotels in Sparks, Nevada and they will all have a blog about this and that in vague terms advising you to spend money on the issue. Years ago I was building a water garden and found tons of useful info, a couple of years ago I decided to make a big pond and all those sites with the useful info are either gone or buried on page 73. What’s at the front is retailers of pond/garden/aquatic equipment with the same drivel about your cat throwing up.

I ran a business, built my website and done SEO according to advice found on the internet practically just using keywords related to my business. My goal was not to be on page 2 or 3 when people look for similar businesses. The site ended up always as a first result. I did not tinker with it, never paid for adwords/adsense. I don’t think I was being an asshole, just trying to make a living.
The problem seems to lie with Google. I remember days when I could search it for topics of interest and get results that were informative and didn’t try to sell me shit. Google is now reminiscent more of a mall and search results are shop fronts in the mall.
