- Comment on Masculine Policy: The GOP’s Plan To Outlaw ‘Porn’ And Suspend The First Amendment 1 year ago:
Everything you’ve said is true. But it was all true in 70s as well. Todays young people aren’t going to remain as progressive - every generation becomes more conservative over time. Hell, baby boomers were hippies. That Karen who votes for Trump and calls the HOA when you forget to take your bins in on time - there’s a good chance she was burning her bra for equal pay when she was in college.

The far-left purity test alienates many mostly-left people.
You can be pro-choice, pro-women, all for supporting the poor, gay rights and trans rights - but if you dare suggest that maybe trans women shouldn’t be competing against born women in top-level sports, then the vocal left brand you as a transphobic TERF whose opinion isn’t even worth listening to. They would rather fight you over the 2% of things you disagree on, than embrace you for the 98% of values you have in common.
The vocal left want diversity in color, gender and sexuality - but they will not tolerate any diversity in thought or opinion.

Shrinking? They increased their seats in the house last election, and now control >50%.
- Comment on No promises from federal government on funding for football 1 year ago:
$44m over their term is about 15 houses per year. Considering they plan to bring in 400,000 new migrants per year, I’m not sure defunding women’s sports to build 15 houses is really going to make much of a dent in the housing market.

Finally! I’ve been wanting an upgrade, but if I want anything between a 7600 and a 7900, I have to buy last-gen tech. If the 7700 is well priced and actually available it should be a winner.
- Comment on The world's largest chipmaker promised to create thousands of US jobs. There are growing tensions over whether US workers have the skills or work ethic to do them. 1 year ago:
You know the US government is paying TSMC hundreds of millions of dollars to open plants in the US, right?

My EV still travels 200km for $1 of solar electricity.
Time to stop sucking on OPECs dick people.
- Comment on All smartphones, including iPhones, must have replaceable batteries by 2027 in the EU 1 year ago:
Just like with the appliances where some vendors had their shops ready way before regulation we already have some phone vendors prepare for that - like Nokia selling some spares via ifixit. So if apple decides to play stupid games it’ll be up against vendors that’ll be completely fine pushing regulation through quickly as hurting apple will only benefit them.
You mean like Apple’s Self Service Repair, which has been available for a few years now?…

People have tried it. The extra drag of a trailer or roof box consumes most of the extra energy that they carry.
- Comment on Can I faraday cage my ISP-issued router in order to use my own? 1 year ago:
You can’t even change your WiFi password?
- Comment on Can I faraday cage my ISP-issued router in order to use my own? 1 year ago:
5Ghz has a wavelength of 60mm. You need to block 1/4 waves, so the biggest gap needs to be lass than 15mm.
- Comment on Can I faraday cage my ISP-issued router in order to use my own? 1 year ago:
Also to answer your question, it won’t work if you can’t set the ISP router to bridge mode if you want to run your own router.
Just use the new router in AP mode, or just buy an AP.
- Comment on WA Premier Roger Cook announces repeal of Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Laws 1 year ago:
An easement is listed when you buy a property. It’s detailed on the property title, and has drawings showing where it is, and who has access.
These new laws were the complete opposite - as long as the property was larger than 1100m^2, it was assumed to be of cultural significance until proven otherwise. The landowner needs to notify aboriginal people (whoever that is?), then they take their feedback to apply for a permit from the government, then the government will notify aboriginal people (again, who?) then based on their feedback will issue a permit (or not). And this same process would apply wether you’re fixing the retic in your suburban backyard, or digging a billion tonne open cut mining pit in the Pilbara.
- Comment on Bill Gates-backed nuclear contender Terra Power aims to build dozens of UK reactors 1 year ago:
The Westinghouse AP1000 was a modular design approved in 2004. The US started building one in 2010 and just finished this year (well, it’s not actually finished yet, but the first reactor is now online).
I think China was the only country to build one in less than a decade - and it’s much easier to perform public works when you’re a authoritarian government who doesn’t have to deal with public or environmental concerns.
- Comment on WA Premier Roger Cook announces repeal of Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Laws 1 year ago:
The new laws were so broad, that any homeowner whose house sits on more than 1100m^2 could be covered. And if you’re near a body of waterway, assessment becomes mandatory for anything ground disturbing. So the owner of a 3x1 on 1/3rd of an acre in Cannington would need to pay thousands of dollars for an assessment if they want to plant a tree in their backyard - does that seem reasonable?
- Comment on Blanking on a term. I remember a protocol/firmware for wireless routers where the idea was to connect as many as possible to create a quasi internet without any ISPs. Help? 1 year ago:
Helium is a crypto based on LoRaWAN, which is essentially a wireless long-range low-bandwidth network designed for IoT devices. The idea is that helium coins/tokens are awarded to users based on how much traffic their node carries.

I guess their love of punishing women for having sex is greater than their love of killing people who don’t have the exact same beliefs as them.

Then they shouldn’t have bid on it in the first place. Once you’ve been awarded something like this, it’s an embarrassing dick-move to back out.
