I bought a few spools from a company called printerior. It appears they recycle pla and other types and make it into filament. I have a box of my waste pla I’m about to send to them, just don’t have enough yet to justify it.
So far their filament is fine to work with, a tad stringy, but nothing major.

I was printing at 190, is that still too hot? It was fresh out of the vaccuseal when I attempted this, but for future attempts I’ll be sure to dry it.

Yeah I’ve done a couple prints since that one with PLA and it was flawless.
That’s an interesting idea about using petg, I’ve got some so maybe I’ll give that a try. What settings did you use for them both?

Counter point, it hasn’t crashed once in my one plus 9 though I wish Swype worked better. I’m super happy to have another option though and am powering through it.
- Comment on Are cars with AWD worth it compared to FWD. 4 months ago:
Going to add to the climate argument, but thrown in a personal realization. I used to only buy rwd manual sporty cars but put snow tires on them in the winter. This was fine until I moved to a location that rains 9 months per year.
It was then I realized heavy torque, rwd was miserable here regardless of the tire choice. I’ve been buying AWD since. But it took me basically a decade to figure that out.
FWIW I still put snow tires on in the Winter, but I ski.

Is there a good tutorial or better yet, videos showing how to use ondsel? When I tried to use it, everything pointed at free car and the ui was too different.

Different studios take different approaches, I know when Polyphony digital was making Gran Turismo 7 they dramatically changed how they were doing audio by actually bringing the real cars into a dedicated recording studio. This isn’t the video I saw a few years ago, but it’s similar.
To my knowledge they may have been (still?) the only studio doing it this way.

Which to me is also a failure. Everyone knows the Tesla network is Tesla. And it’s hands down, better. People use Electrify America and have a bad experience (myself included) and they get mad at it. Even if they don’t know it’s tied to vw.
YouTubers and journalist talk about it and tie it to vw and suddenly your enthusiasts are panning vw for their garbage network.
It’s a lose lose for Volkswagen the way they did this.

You aren’t wrong, but also it directly impacts the company reputation. Doing it as absolute crap as they did hurts them. Not the whole industry, because looks what’s happened since, the charging standards in USA went from CCS to nacs, all the manufacturers switched to using Tesla network which, checks notes is your direct competition.

Ooof I’ve got a vivedono troodon (voron clone) and that thing is constantly breaking. It’s broken right now! I might just give the thing away if someone would come get it!
Compared to my Prusa where everything just works it’s not even close. The troodon is like a creality but without the cheap budget parts being widely available.
Does anyone know what slicer profiles exist for the sv08?

Why do you say it isn’t a proper substitute? What features is it missing?
- Comment on What is the point of Xbox? 6 months ago:
I mean, the nuance you describe is notable. But I sit on the couch, using controllers and play the same games you would on ps or Xbox. Both of which run variants of Linux/windows.
It appears the nuance is no longer important.

K… This is just not true. Plenty of AAA games run well on the steam deck. Currently installed on mine, RDR2, cyberpunk 2077, horizon zero dawn, Forza horizon, uncharted legacy of thieves, the last of us, and for funsies I just started another fallout 4 playthrough. I’m sure others have lots of other AAA games they play on their deck.
If it’s the exclusives you’re missing, like Gran Turismo or something, I think that’s a different argument.

- Comment on Is there someone in this community that is willing to test planters for me? 7 months ago:
I give away some of my designs, but not all of them. Also the 3d printing community, which I do belong to, is fine and all, but they have a different approach to things like this than what I’m trying to do.
If you give a 3d printed shelf or planter to someone not in the 3d printing community, they have a more critical/functional eye I’ve found. They aren’t burdened by some of the limitations and give different feedback. There is overlap for sure, but the best feedback I got was when I partnered with a local plant shop. The creativity and eye for what worked best was awesome. Unfortunately that shop didn’t survive the covid years so I’m trying to recapture that feedback loop. I hope that helps explain my thought process.
