I know the article says what it is, I know it’s wrong, I know it’s irrelevant…
But I can’t read “SMT” as anything other as Shin Megami Tensei.
- Comment on Reddit blocking all major search engines, except Google 3 months ago:
You can see posts from every instance that your instance has federated with. For example, I, on toast.ooo, can see posts on lemmy.world and sh.itjust.works because my instance federates with them.
You can’t see posts from instances that your instance has defederated with, though, nor can you see posts from instances that have defederated with yours. Think of it like cutting one of those thick undersea cables that connect the internet across continents.
There’s a lot to consider when picking an instance; lemmy.world is a good default, so that’s probably why Voyager directed you to it, but don’t be afraid to switch to another instance of you think it’ll serve you better!

I think it’s because of Lemmy’s stronger left lean, especially amongst those around before the Reddit API fiasco.

imho, that’s how you find the some of the best games games.
Find the ones that people pirate, then enjoy so much that they go out of their way to get an official copy.

Well, slander tends to be fictitious, so its inverse would just be facts that paint someone in a positive light.

- Comment on We Finally Have Proof That the Internet Is Worse 1 year ago:
The issue is that a good number of products are only available through Amazon, and a metric ton of services that people depend on are owned by Google.
Just saying “don’t use Amazon or Google” is almost tantamount to saying “don’t eat food” or “don’t drink water”.
Should that be the case? No. But right now, it is.

- Comment on Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core - Teaser Trailer 1 year ago:
Well, they still need to keep the lights on, and I can’t imagine they can crank out paid cosmetics from now until eternity.
- Comment on Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core - Teaser Trailer 1 year ago:
I imagine this is something they want to create without contending with the constraints of Deep Rock Galactic as it currently stands, since this pushes more in a rogue-like direction instead of the class-based shooter that is vanilla DRG.
It’s understandable, but I also hope it’s priced fairly as well.
- Comment on Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core - Teaser Trailer 1 year ago:
They did say S5 would be a tie-in to Rogue Core, so maybe it’ll be an excuse to introduce this new material, along with a new biome?

I feel like at some point, you’d need arbitrary precision and arbitrarily-sized real numbers in order to meaningfully represent it.

Not even VRChat, it’s straight up just worse Second Life.

Viable, yes, but I don’t think Godot currently matches up to Unity in terms of capability. I do think this will very much get an impetus going for people & studios to invest into Godot’s development, though.

IIRC it doesn’t have quite as much polish as Unity or Unreal, and last I researched, it doesn’t run natively on Wayland (yet).
