I’m using box whites today on my 75%. They are a delightful light-tactile masquerading as a clicky. I need my box navies. Would be interesting to see how those compare with the iconic C64 homage keycaps.
8BitDo’s latest retro keyboard is an ode to the Commodore 64

Looks cool but also cheap and plastic-y.

Plastic-y is a feature for keyboards like this. Clicky switches need a hollow plastic case to sound nice.
I have an NCR80 (a light plastic Cherry G80 clone) and it sounds glorious with Kailh Box Jade switches.

Looks cool but I will never buy a keyboard without a numpad.
SpaceCadet@feddit.nl 7 months ago
Well the C64 didn’t come with a numpad either, and the tenkeyless format is way more popular than full sized keyboards with mechanical keyboard enthusiasts, at which this keyboard is aimed.
I went numpadless 12 years ago with a Filco TKL, never looked back. A full size keyboard just feels awkward to use now with all the deskspace it takes up.

Nope. No ISO layout = no buy. I hate that thin ugly Return key.

I had no idea that layout with the clunky return key had an actual name. Thank you for giving me the words to describe the exact layout I hate.
