(I finished it after midnight, so it counts as #FridayReads).
This is probably going to be near the top of my list of favorite books for the year. It is what I look for in horror - it's creepy and ominous, but not out for cheap scares. It is more of a reflection of the darkness in the protagonist and how that presents itself in the world (as an enormous horse-sized crow).
Beautiful and sad.
This means I'm also back to finishing up 'The Murder of Roger Ackroyd' by Agatha Christie for a discussion next week.
It's interesting to read a mystery from the non-detective perspective. It is reminding me a lot of the way 'Knives Out' is structured, which makes sense since Rian Johnson draws a lot from Christie in that movie.
I know there is a big controversial twist/reveal in this book, but I don't know what it is yet

And finally, I'm still coasting through 'King Sorrow' by Joe Hill on audio.
This had mixed reviews when I was considering it, but I'm really enjoying it. Mainly because I'm a big Steven King fan, and this could easily be one of his middle-quality works (I generally like Hill, but I feel he still has a way to go to compare to his father's greatest stuff).
I'm mainly in it for the awesome nightmare dragon though. Long live the king!

Acquired enjoyed that one as well. You’re right it’s not great literature, but it is a great beach read. And that very much has its place.
