Really a testament to the importance of labour unions. They lift up the pay even for workers not in unions.

Yep. I enjoyed “we will take what they are having” outside the Union for many good years, each year when the Union negotiated a pay or benefit increase.
But in tough years, the unionized workers did much better than we did.
We fixed that though - by joining the Union.

I agree. Seeing currently at my job. Main location is in a State with strong unionization. My location, far from Corporate, is being hit with wave after wave of petty shit and hostility. Hiring freezes, department hours cut, no overtime, random check-ins at terrible times, etc. Been sorely tempted to drop a super quiet and anonymous letter to the union supporting employees of this organization, even if this location is outside their jurisdiction. See what happens.
