Are you nervous when you read a new book by an author you've interacted with a lot online? I'm sure I will like the book, since I enjoyed the quirkiness of her previous two novels, but it also gives me anxiety. 🙃
GoblinQuester@dice.camp 1 day ago @kimlockhartga @bookstodon I have more or less stopped reading books written by people I know beforehand, it is one thing to get to learn an author through their book, a completely different thing to read a book in their shadow so to say.

@kimlockhartga @bookstodon Naturally, it’s stressful in a multitude of ways. But I think to myself, it’s actually good for exploring possibly new ways of expression so long as my judgment doesn’t get the best of me.
