      Nah, the publisher that made WC3 and StarCraft… i know they were already dead but it’s a bummer to see blizzard so completely consumed by capitalism.

  How is this a good deal at all? All these games have been going downhill for years now. I mean I guess they can still be cash cows but they’re not gonna be praised or loved anymore just for being part of Xbox

    It’s easier to buy known brands, fix them, and get users back, than it is to try and get users to download a newly created series.

    People also thought Microsoft was stupid for buying Mojang for 2.5 BILLION, because “everyone who already wants the game already bought the game”.

    Ignoring the fact that entire new generations have been born and become obsessed with it, play on bedrock with the market place, and buy all of the Minecraft merch. Also all of the other games they’ve launched with the Minecraft branding since.

    Because Blizzard used to be a good company that created legendary genre-defining games. They only went downhill due to toxic work culture. That is something Microsoft could fix. Even if they have to operate the studio at a loss for a couple years, they have enough money to do so. They have the potential to revive the IPs they just purchased if they make a few good decisions. Unfortunately, it’ll likely take several years to find out for sure.

    I’ve moved away from a lot of Google services after the Terraria developers Google account was banned for no reason, and it took threatening the Stadia release of Terraria to get attention.

    I’d move to Windows phone in 2023.

    I understand why Microsoft gave up on it, because they were essentially choked out by the fact Google refused to publish their apps on it, but it sucks. Wish they kept going.

  Didn’t want to play those games as they’re proprietary but certainly would like to have a life enjoying games without Microsoft as an option.
