I remember people being upset when Nexus came under new ownership a couple years ago, but I’ve been happy with what they’ve done so far. Vortex has been getting steady updates, and it’s honestly made modding so much easier with a more-or-less “plug and play” approach.
Nexus Mods update their generative AI-made mod tagging policy, dividing one label into three for more specific search filtering

That was only a year ago. And collections were added way before the merger.
Honestly, I haven’t seen anything get added since the purchase. The main change I’ve seen is more pushing of vortex and collections when you go to the download page, there’s an extra page/window you have to click through now.
Also, splitting requirements and dependencies in different sections of mods’ description tabs. While they did need more differentiation, putting them in separate expansion buttons was too much and actually makes checking dependencies harder, especially with having pages instead of a long list

I always support adding more specificity in filtering and search options.

I’d like to see AI voice actors split out.
For an actual game that would be a dealbreaker.
For an unpaid mod? Thats about the only time I’d be ok with it. But I wouldn’t want to install a mod AI coded.

Another factor is if it’s the difference between getting expanded dialogue for a character with the same voice, or with a different VA that can significantly change the personality.
For example, Serana Dialogue Add-On vs Serana Dialogue Expansion. I personally can’t stand the new personality added with SDA.
That being said, I’m significantly less tolerant of dialogue expansion mods that have spotty quality for the voice or writing. If you’re taking a shortcut in one area (aka AI voice acting), you should be more scruitinizing for the other parts of the mod. AnBeeGod is guilty of this at times. He’s about 50/50 on whether it’s great or sub-par

There’s so much ai coded mods now. “Placebo” has entered the common game modification parlance now as a way to describe the utter glut of stuff that’s “I don’t really know how this works or if it works but you can try and then tell me”
