why does Hamas always hide in schools, hospitals, and homes?

The most honest answer I can give you is that most countries involved with the Geneva Convention won’t hit soft targets like that specifically because of the bad press. Their own people get upset about it and they want to be seen as the good guy in these kinds of things. As a result people who view other people as people and not enemies or combatants or soldiers etc take serious issues with targeting religious or holy houses or worship, schools hospitals and civilian homes specifically because of the threat to civilians and non combatants, especially children. They want Israel to attack those places so that they can show the world that Israel is the bad guy. It’s a calculated action. This is directly from the playbook of other terrorist groups and nations who back terrorist organizations.
“Article 18. Civilian hospitals organized to give care to the wounded and sick, the infirm and maternity cases, may in no circumstances be the object of attack, but shall at all times be respected and protected by the Parties to the conflict.”
