Cossacs as well, they were viewed as christian chivalric order and restoration of knightly tradition (starshyna were in fact szlachta more often than not), they were mercenaries that often fought on the side of ottomans or multiple sides of the same war at the same time and often participated in piracy as well. Also government was sometimes republic with elected monarch, sometimes ‘hereditary’ monarchy, sometimes just republic.
