They may not be at the center, but they are always early in the decision making process.

It’s difficult for me to be happy seeing Google do all this, however a lot of what they are doing is actually pretty cool. A couple years ago when there was a wildfire 7 miles away I was able to watch the spread and know when I wanted to get out. It was a bit clunky to get to but that was through Google. It was clear and concise and it was updated at the same time as the first service websites.
