I feel like the key word here is resignation. Platinum has changed from its early days and so has the quality of its output (Babylon’s Fall, Astral Chain, which I loved everything about but the gameplay). It is possible that because of the capital injection/investment by Tencent, Kamiya doesn’t have the same creative freedom/pull to make the games he wants anymore.
Unless he speaks up we will never know, and I doubt he will. Can’t wait to see what’s next for him tho.

I bet he’s been frustrated with the company since Scalebound, this was only a matter of time. Everyone knows Kamiya isn’t exactly shy about sharing his opinions so I bet he’s been butting heads with people nonstop. Hope he pulls a Kojima and gets some funding to do his own thing.

Oh wow Scalebound, I was so excited for that game. Wish he was able to finish that as he seemed to be very passionate towards it. I heard MS was extremely pissed with the development process as well.
