Should also allow the use of iPads as an external monitor for game consoles and the like. I’ve tried it out in beta and it seems to work like a charm so far.

Only info I can find says no lightning iPads :(

Yo what? Does the controller stay paired to the console or do you have to pair it to the iPad?
I hate the idea of having to re-pair controllers.

I’m looking forward to updating. My one concern is is SideStore will still work with iOS 17. I need my Delta Emulator.
DarrenLong@lemmy.one 1 year ago
Apple will need to allow sideloading natively to comply with EU law… so any day now you should be able to sideload any app directly

I am so waiting for this but there has been no news on that front. Also I’m in the US, but I home they make it available worldwide.
CluckN@lemmy.world 1 year ago
Altjit doesn’t work on iOS 17 right now. So you might want to wait.

Looks like there’s a workaround… faq.altstore.io/how-to-use-altstore/altjit

Yeah that’s what I’m reading. Hit is t critical for me. But it’s nice to speed up N64 games.

This StandBy feature sounds like a fantastic way to ensure phones are always in AFU mode and easier to compromise

The devices are still locked. It’s fine.

I wish CitizenLab would revisit this topic (or visit it at all, ot sure if they have) about BFU vs AFU mode now. Unless content has CompleteProtection, i believe certain important things can be accessed regardless or lock status if you’ve at least unlocked from boot once…

Installed all the OS’s RC (release candidates) today; all are very smooth but watchOS 10 (on an 1st generation Apple Watch SE).
I haven’t noticed anything odd with iOS 17, yet.

The no.1 thing I’m looking forward to is improved autocorrect.
Pechente@feddit.de 1 year ago
Yeah it used to be terrible. Now it’s somewhat usable (used it in the beta for a while). It’s still bad if you type in multiple languages though.
FordBeeblebrox@lemmy.world 1 year ago
Autocorrect and swipe to type aren’t great in other languages, my phone also has a tendency to switch keyboards randomly so I’ll start typing a message to someone whom I’ve never spoken anything but English to and every word is redlined wrong
