Do you want people installing batteries and not selling you back excess energy? Because that’s what will happen with policies like this. People will eventually disconnect from the grid completely, and the have nots will be stuck with high energy prices (while the AI data centers will be given a rate discount).

Full disconnect is fairly unlikely. You really want the wind and geographical backstops to be reliable and cheap
