Devs say it was a Discord SDK issue and will be patched immediately
Article agrees it looks completely unintentional
The headline makes it look like they were pillaging user information.

It’s easy to over-provision permissions. Just look at all the wide open S3 buckets people report on every few months.
Oh dont worry as long as you use an iphone or windows you basically have spyware for the US government
Whataboutism
Those statements can be true and this would still be shitty and unethical
Yeah people think they have privacy is what concerns me.

This feels like more an issue with Discord even allowing these chats to leak like this. Why would any other app have access to that information?

This is the company that definitely won’t mishandle your personal information needed for age authentication btw

This was only happening when users linked their discord accounts to arc raiders. According to the arc raiders this info was in the enabled logging by default from the discord social SDK

It sounds like other games and applications using the Discord Social SDK as you call it would also have the logging enabled by default. Setting that as the default feels like the issue here and including this info in the logs as an option is another.
There’s a bit of shared responsibility and negligence we can condemn here, but those are what I’d point to as the main causes.
