Technically they are slaves of the United States government and have no legal mechanism to say no even if the action is illegal.
If they refuse they will court marshaled and jailed until the case is brought at the military court months later.

They absolutely do have legal mechanisms, you just described a facet of them. I get what you’re saying, but my father was court marshaled twice and prevailed in both cases. Not that it’s too be taken lightly, as I understand your point, it’s true that it isn’t some simple mechanism.
