What are the best Aus made and owned alternatives to US brands?
I’m working on a series of poster/images for !buyoceanian@quokk.au - A comm for promoting Aus/NZ goods.
Can I please get some of your recommendations and suggestions for locally made and owned alternative brands. Thank you

Sadly “Australian Made” is a bit of a flog. It could be all Chinese produced parts but put together here and be considered Australian Made. I’m trying to find stuff that is ideally all done here.
There was a time that Dick Smith published a catalog like this. It was mostly supermarket products, and needed constant updating as companies outsourced overseas.
Just for my car, I can think of: Motor oil - Penrite instead of Valvoline Detailing - Bowden’s Own instead of Meguiar’s
I play baseball. It’s easy to avoid US products, as Japan and Canada make heaps of great stuff. You won’t find anything Australian though.
Most of Australia’s consumer money spent on US products goes to Facebook Amazon Netflix Google and Microsoft.
For tech, I guess Stan instead of Netflix?
I avoid most physical US products because they’re often not metric, and a pain to work with.

For Uggs, I’ve been using Mortels for . Aussie owned, grown, and made. I rock the Bitza made from offcuts. I feel like I’m helping making use of the entire sheepskin. You know, less waste etc. Been very happy with the quality, and I use innersoles to keep things clean and fresh and get extra life out of the ugg boots. They even have arched innersoles. I am not affiliated with Mortels, just a happy customer.
