Can’t say that I am a huge fan of this arc with Kojo’s dad. I can’t really put my finger on exactly why, but I find myself just wanting to skip past it.
Same. I think part of the reason is that I can’t for the life of me understand why a hotel chain owner would be treated and revered like they’re royalty. They even have body guards as if their job makes them a target.
That part seeps through the entire thing and it just doesn’t make sense to me.
I completely forgot that this is the context of her family. I guess my brain was filling this in like they were some important political figure or something.

I think the other part of this that is frustrating to me is how much potential Kujo’s character had with her shojo brain. We got to see just a bit of the silliness that could result from her attempted interventions before the sports festival came. Instead now, she is wrapped up in this very contrived drama and it feels like her character was squandered.
